Issue with redirects and Amazon

Hi

On this thread there is a link to Amazon.co.uk

When I click on the link it goes to the redirect site first

but by the time it resolves it is an amazon.com link

While I am in Ireland, I work somewhere where my IP would appear in the US. Which I assume has something to do with it.

Fairly annoying though, is there anything that can be done?

I had to doublecheck this but this is Skimlinks which we posted about earlier this year here.

Skimlinks is software that can turn certain standard web-links on Boards (typically links to online retailers with whom Skimlinks has a relationship) with into affiliate links, also known as tracked links. These tracked links are then marked as coming from Boards. If a member or reader ends up purchasing something then the retailer pays an affiliate fee which is shared between Skimlinks and Boards[...]

Redirect.at is the Skimlinks redirection service. The IP address may be the reason that you are re-directed to Amazon.com instead of .co.uk alright, it's something we will look into here and let you know if there is anything we can do to amend it.

Thanks for the reply, its pretty annoying, The only way I can actually go to the amazon.co.uk link is to either go into edit mode on the post or quote the post and copy and paste it from there.
