Oap as sole trader

    My father is retired but wants to sell his services as a handyman. He has a state pension and no other income. does he need to register as a sole trader? His income will be below 5k per year as he does not want to effect his pension.

    He does need to file a tax return with respect to the additional revenue that he earns.

    He may not need to register for self assessment however as the additional income would be relatively small. He should just need to fill out a form 12.
