Sorry, I meant to add his age. Dappy is 5 months now and just gone 4kg. He is a really unusual colour and super soft fur too - he always gets a lot of attention with people trying to work out what he is!

His mammy was a small terrier and his daddy a miniature long haired dapple dachshund...Dappy got the short hair of mum in the dapple tri-colour of dad - which looks a bit like snow leopard in places. When we picked up Dap we met one of his litter-mates and he was a sable with one blue eye so I think there must be a bit of Merle in there too. :)

Bren and Nala, Lucy is having a sulk.

Nala arrived today, bren and her got on well together straight away, Lucy only plays with them in short bursts but she will improve

Snap...my dog chooses the bottle as a pillow rather than the comfy blanket I have laid out for her

Opie when he got back from kennels and his first real groom.
(the lady that minds him was very reluctant to inform me it took three of them to contain him - not a happy lad!)
Delighted to be home by the looks of him!

Finn has gone from being utterly terrified of my dad to being his shadow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,277 ✭✭✭aonb

Its the best feeling when a terrified animal starts to trust someone.
You know you're doing something right, when fears are being overcome :)

Honestly, the magic secret is.... ignoring him. My dad is just a calm person who did nothing to try win Finn over; he just payed the dog absolutely no attention for months and now Finn follows him round like a puppy and sneaks into dad's chair whenever he can.

He yet lives (again...)! The Tintin is back in action. After his cardiac episode last Thursday week and some powerful diuretics, the Tintin is back to his usual happy self. We went camping for just the one night. The Tintin had a stroll on the beach with his two loyal friends. Later a little splash in the seawater for the mild arthritis. After his dinner in the evening, it was early to bed in the tent. Was a bit chilly so he had his warm coat on and his blanket. Great to be alive:)

The adorable Tintin rises again! Indeed great to be alive and continuing to make memories with his loving friends. May he live to see many more little trips.
