Bought a 5.5l slow cooker in Lidl yesterday for €19.99

I was looking at them, but no way would it fit in my tiny kitchen! Got a toaster instead for €15

    I couldn't find one.

    Will keep looking!

It wasn't bad at all but I prefer the Inferno one yet haven't seen it in a while.

I miss my baby Inferno too - whacking hot sauce on a normal pizza just isn't the same as the sliced chillies and spicy sauce 😔

The duck confit legs are €3 this week in LIDL, I think they are from the Silver Hill farm in Monaghan, so as good as it gets.

They're pre cooked and just need 30 minutes in the oven to crisp them up... lovely paired with something red.

I love the duck breasts that are seasoned. They're really tasty :)

    Can't recommend these enough.

They are really good but for a while, the quality dropped - it was like they weren't cooked for as long and slow so they weren't lovely and fall off the bone tender.

I was about to contact Silver Hill over it when they went back to normal.
They do very, very good products, imo.

I bought this also. I had actually been thinking about buying a slow cooker over the weekend, researching different models and features and then saw this at a price that was a no brainer.

I made my first stew ever , beef in Guinness, and it turned out amazing for a first attempt. It's a large utensil but it'll be providing half our weekly dinners from now on.

I can give no higher praise than say I think my stew beats my mum's.

Lidl have a special offer on wine at the minute. Chilean Merlot for 3.50. Down from 7 per bottle.

I hope I don't regret posting this and go in to get some and find them sold out.

Cheers - is that a weekend only deal or have you picked one up already at that price?

Don't drink wine myself but was checking it out for some one else, they have a South African Merlot half price this weekend 21/21 Jan. Could be muck, could be a bargain.

Think I'll chance it for that. Even if it's not great it won't break the bank. Sure you wouldn't get a coffee for that nowadays!

It’s American week this week in Lidl. If anyone likes peanut butter chocolates and ice cream it will be in from Monday.

The Monteray Jack cheddar slices are the biz on a burger, 1.99 is steep though but are great.

Does anyone know, Lidl hat meal prep boxes advertised in the Specialbuys for last Thursday, I didn't find them in my Lidl. Did anyone else see them?

LIDL's 'basic' Chianti is the Corte Alle Mura DOCG for €6.50.
It tastes nice when opened, but if you leave it until the next day, it opens out and goes up a notch in terms of flavour so that was a pleasant surprise :)

The organic wafer oats are back in LIDL - new packaging so not sure if the product has also been changed. Seem to be made in northern Ireland - not sure if this was always the case

My local Lidl have there own version of Kinder eggs now 3 for €1.69. One half of the egg is milk chocolate and the other half white. I was disappointed with them and the toys were only okay.

I don't think it's been mentioned in here before but the Lidl Deluxe Irish Country Relish is delicious and very similar to Ballymaloe.

Ah in fairness, I cant stand the chap or the family for that matter but Tim Allen is a convicted child pornographer (977 images, IIRC) not a Paedophile. You are wrong there.

Mod note:Many will no doubt have strong feelings about Tim Allen but this is not the forum for such a discussion. Let's stay on topic please, and consider this a warning.

It seems the Nespresso pods have been discontinued. Sometimes I wonder if they're actively trying to piss people off.

    I used to love them.

I still haven't come to terms with the loss of the inferno.
