Every time I go in I go over the spot where they used to be, thinking they're going to be there.
    Them and the Belgian Beers.

It seems the Nespresso pods have been discontinued.

There was a whole display shelf unit full of them in Clonee over the weekend

Maybe the three of us could start it up amongst ourselves?

It seems the Nespresso pods have been discontinued. Sometimes I wonder if they're actively trying to piss people off.

They're back in my store now, just moved to the end of an aisle.

Is the coconut milk gone? It's not been in my local store for weeks.

They have a new Delux range (Costa Rica, Papua New Guinea) - currently on special at €1.69 for a pack of 10 in my branch.

They had it in my local Lidl today, along with Almond milk.

I'm looking for the stuff in cans for cooking with rather than the Non-dairy milk substitute. But thanks.

Guess I'll just have to make do with the watery kind...

Same here, I got a few tins at the start of December and they've had none since. Aldi's one is very gloopy. Lidl did this last summer too though so I would think they'll get it back. Here's hoping!

I've been looking for the coconut milk too, but it has disappeared recently. And Tesco were out of their own brand too. Grrr!

I have 2 tins of the LIDL coconut milk here and I'm keeping them.
But I will give you the bar code number. 2010 3644. In case you want to complain to customer.services@lidl.ie, I was enquiring about another missing product (Stilton) and they wanted the barcode.
I too had noticed that it hadn't been around
This one is 82% coconut, a lot thicker than the Aldi

I have an emergency stash of Santan which is dried coconut cream, you mix it with water and it turns into coconut milk like the can, obviously you can use it in various proportions so it can be as thick as you like.
Asian stores should have it in a foil packet.

    I emailed Lidl about it
    Dear Kylith

I am very sorry to hear that the Coconut Milk was not available in the Cork St., Dublin 8 store during your visit.

Unfortunately, there was a supply issue with this item and none of our stores have received it.

Our Purchasing team are working on a future sale date at present and this will be re-advertised in our leaflets and on our website, www.lidl.ie. Please do keep an eye out on future promotions to avail of this item. Thanks for your feedback and apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Regards, Elaine

    Customer Support Specialist

sounds like they plan to get it again in the future. I'll be buying it by the box when they do.

Hopefully they will not change supplier, you can get high % ones in the asian shops but it is often quite a bit more expensive.

The coconunt cream mentioned is easy enough to get. Tesco have 200g pataks for €1.69, it would be a little cheaper in asian shops

What I like about the coconut cream is that it is usually separated in the sachet, a layer of coconut flesh and coconut oil on top. So I can snip the bag and take out only the coconut oil and fry chicken & onions etc in it, then add pastes or whatever and put the remaining coconut into it.

I'll admit I don't know a lot about coconut milk but sometimes when Aldi/Lidl run out a product and they replace it the new one can be different. So I wouldn't run out and buy a box right away!

The one I was referring to is a powder not a paste.

But I guess you like the paste version.

I've read a recipe for beef rendang yesterday and the chef said that he uses the powder himself because it's nicer than a lot of canned milk he can get his hands on.

I've heard that the best canned coconut milk is chaokoh which is in most asian stores - it's 100% coconut with no thickeners or anything else added, but it is more expensive than the own-brand you can get in Lidl - around 1.50 -2.00 euro a can I think.

    This stuff:

I find very useful for recipes which only need a little bit of coconut cream/milk, since you can just mix up as much as you need. The box only costs a couple of euro and is in every asian store I've been in. I use it a lot for making this recipe for saté:

    https://figjamandlimecordial.com/2013/11/09/jimmys-sate-sauce/
I just mix up about 20g of powdered coconut with 40g of water to make up the 60g the recipe calls for.

(Edit: Sorry, for some reason I thought I was posting in the general chat thread, not the Lidl one :o)

The Papua New Guinea ones are gorgeous! Plus the packaging is so much neater. Hated the individually wrapped ones. No need for it.

My local Lidl is now stocking their version of KP Mini Chips.
125g size bag- 79cent and available in three flavours; Salt and Vinegar, Sour Cream and Onion and Ready Salted.
I bought the Salt and Vinegar and they're really nice.
Very like Mini Chips but not as sharp.

I saw those, easily miseed as its a very small box as all the types are in the same box, and the packs are not filled with air like the other wasters. so you would have to look for them properly. I hope they come out in smaller mulitpacks, second I open a 125g pack it is a gonner.

Got a pizza out of Lidl last week.
It was a Pepperoni, with a stuffed crust.
Think it was called something like "Feel Good Pizza".

One of the nicest frozen pizzas I've had in a long time.
