I have to say their sour cream and chive dip with a few of the grissini breadsticks makes for a VERRRRRRY tasty snack. Had severe trouble stopping at it yesterday evening!

Tried the Deluxe frozen Hereford Steak burgers recently.

They're incredibly tightly vacuum packed, and don't really loosen up with cooking, so they stay really dense. Also quite gristly.

That all may be to do with the type of meat, but they're not a patch on the Angus burgers that Aldi had a while back (and hopefully still have!).

    Won't be buying them again.

For. The ladies, tampons without applicator back in stock.

The pop chips barbecue are really nice.

    Maybe 18g of protein.

So I may have gotten slightly addicted to one of the chocolate bars they were stocking recently. They were just chocolate with (possibly) rice crispies inside, anybody else eat them? Or does anyone know what special they were involved in? Red and yellow packaging and very thick when compared to their usual chocolate bars.

Still some stock of frozen patatas bravas from the Iberian week around. Need to check for tiny ones or obvious black bits before putting in the oven but still much faster than making your own. Use the extra time to make an aioli (or find one elsewhere)

Those breads and cakes on open display are open to some abuse by customers. Never again. Euuuuch.

I worked in a cinema in college and believe me that's the right thing to do...

Yes I complained to LIDL Ireland a few year ago because I saw children (with the parents oblivious) running along and grabbing at open bread with dirty hands, licking some of the food and putting it back etc...

They replied and said that all new stores would have the open food behind glass doors - havent seen that implemented anywhere.

Saw the same in Supervalu though, a low table with frosted donuts on it, 2 children joyfully licking the frosting then putting the donuts back down and running back to find their mother.

    Never buy open food.

The two new stores in Cork have all the baked goods behind glass doors.
