Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Everyone in this country already know that UPC offers the fastest broadband in Ireland.
Why do companies like eircom self proclaim they're Ireland's favorite and fastest when they're obviously not.

So you're basically lying to people in TV adverts to gain more customers.

    Hi Sounds

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way,

The reason why eircom convey this message is because eircom have launched (and continue to plan on launching) up to 1Gb speeds thus offering the fastest broadband in Ireland - follow here for more information: http://pressroom.eircom.net/press_releases/article/eircom_to_Offer_Gigabit_Broadband_Speeds/

Also, eircom have deployed the eFibre product of up to 100Mb to a larger geographical area of Ireland of which details can be found in the link below. Plans are that 1.6 million homes will be included in this by the end of 2016.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for the info,
I have  tested several networks across the country, I know what I'm talking about.
Until a company are actually the fastest in the country, which they are not, they shouldn't be lying in TV adverts.
They are no way near being 250meg, and definitely no way near 1gig speed.

It also has a huge effect where one may be 1.5km from a server hub.

So basically sounds you are spot on they are lying.

Its very poor gimmicks like this that catch some out.

Other factors seem to be congestion and where you are situated along the line.

They're not lying. They are the first to offer 1Gb/s. Granted very few can actually avail of it but it's a start.
