Does anyone know where to get the "3 PC" packs of Microsoft Office 2010 by any chance?

I have a couple of kids in secondary school and even though it's not on the book list they essentially "require" Microsoft Office. We've struggled for the last few years with Open Office, but invariably it ends in tears at some stage during the year when the teacher opens something in Office and it doesn't render correctly.

So . . . it looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and buy it outright. And this is where the problems come in. Microsoft want me to pay them €100 a year forever just to use Office . . . just because the schools have all consumed the kool-aid. Alternatively I can buy it outright for something like €130 for a single machine license. This license doesn't transfer so if they lose/break the laptop they also lose Office and it has to be bought again.

As far as I know though, If I can get the 2010 license I can install it in 3 machines and re-install as required.

    Thanks,

    z

you probably know but anyway office365 is free for students

https://www.office.com/?WT.mc_id=Office_Products_site ( you'll see it near the end there )

Schools will have to buy subscriptions for staff and faculty, but once they do, students (and even teachers) can self-install for no charge by using a school-issued email address at the Office in education website.

Here is a link to an advert I saw on Donedeal. I dont know anything about it but it might be an option to suit you.

I know its difficult keeping up with all the things school kids need.

I can do this for you if you bring computer to me, or I can do it remote access so you dont even have to leave your home. This is activated through registry so its a life time activation.

Dodgy so you've no guarantee it won't cave in when you need it most

bit pointless anyway - Office 365online is free or 10e per month for 5 users and 1Tb each online storage

Better yet would be to defenestrate the clown of teacher and therefore make an attempt at upgrading to someone who doesn't cherrypick bits of technology they just like the look of

    Why not try this
    MS Office Starter (its free)

Microsoft Office Starter 2010 gives home users who are buying preloaded PCs the ability to perform the most common and basic productivity tasks right out of the box. Office Starter consists of Microsoft Word Starter 2010 and Microsoft Excel Starter 2010 only, reduced functionality versions of Microsoft Word and Excel with advertising.
