Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Forrest is a very frustrating player

Would it be fair to say a lot of Celtic fans determine the success of a manager based on European qualification these days since the league is usually easy going most seasons?

Is CL qualification the required target the board sets or are they happy enough with EL group stage qualification?

Berget shoots a free kick like he was at Celtic

Celtic are a bit ****, and yet we presume they'll walk the SPL.

    Still the Europa League beckons....

3 corners over 2 games and 3 goals conceded, simply not good enough

Cand yet we presume they'll walk the SPL.

Hearts and Aberdeen will give them a good competition but in the end, Celtic have the resources to win the SPL

And VVD at fault for all 3, if that was Ambrose he'd be chased from Glasgow

Comic cuts defending yet again. You might get away with that sort of poor marking in the SPL (or whatever it's called these days), you won't in Europe.

Celtic need a goal in the next ten mins or its done and dusted

Celtic should put everything into the europa league if they go out here.

He wasn't at fault for either tonight as far as I can see

Delivery has been spot on from Malmo.

Celtic have never been the same since they lost Rangers. That should be sorted next season so at least there's that.

Bet Ronnie is thinking Why Me? in Malmo tonight...

Next flight to Glasgow leaves from Terminal 3...

For the first the ball came into the area he should be covering but he was too busy pushing & shoving another player to notice.

The 2nd was probably not his fault but he was fast asleep for the rebound and turned his back before the ball even went in.

Far below the usual level of his performances

25 minutes to score 2 goals.... and not concede any more!

Even when Rangers were in the SPL, the problem was that the old firm were playing in a very weak league. And that meant that, in most seasons (I am aware that both of them did qualify for the group stages on the odd occasion), they'd go into Europe unprepared for the difficult games that they were facing.

Think the obituaries are being written a little early. One goal and it's right back on.

There'll be a red card for a Celtic player soon to wrap up a miserable night

Cmon Celtic, want to see Messi play at Celtic Park again.

    Lucky again.

The ref has been extremely lenient with them tonight.

Look at the state of the Celtic side in fairness. What have they done in Europe the last few seasons? They've been cheap skating because Rangers aren't there to compete with and that has to have an effect. Why is that even a debate?

Will Celtic lose many players if they fail to get to the CL group stages?

In fairness the club is run on a shoe string. Ultimately a Late goal in celtic Park and an awful refereeing decision in the first half has contributed to being knocked out. Terrible defending from set pieces also, but nothing pathetic about it.

They ran out of ideas about 20 minutes ago.

In fairness Celtic should have been home and hosed after the first leg but they hit the self destruct button. Second leg Malmo while not being great have worked their bòllocks off, great pressing game which has frustrated Celtic and they have indeed run out of ideas and no plan B as the commentators said.. a target man in the vein of Samaras, so disjointed too they look like 11 players who never even played together.

Tbf as a Celtic supporter I think our performance tonight gas been pathetic.

Lack of urgency, lack of ideas, no leadership, defensively poor etc etc.

We're were easily 2nd best against Malmo tonight with a massive prize on the line, absolute shocking stuff

The late late goal last week was the catalyst for this over the 2 legs and that was awful defending in the last seconds of the game

Thank fk that's over. Painful stuff

The defending at set pieces has been amateur hour stuff. Malmo are a very average side, they scored 4 goals in the tie, 3 of them from corners.

I hope to god we get Malmo in the group stages both sides are truly awful (arsenal fan here) so i know awful lol

Poor stuff from the TV3 bloke there, trying to get Lennon to slag off Deila.

This tie is not over yet, if Malmo have not registered a player then Celtic will go through.

    Fingers crossed.

The thing I would be most upset about is the attitudes the players had after going behind. As some others have said, the lack of urgency and fight was disappointing to see from professional footballers playing in such an important game.

Would it really matter if Celtic spent money?

Decent players wouldn't really want to play for them anymore as the scottish league is poor quality and extremely un-competitive .It must be desperately boring playing for Celtic these days.It must be difficult to raise your game for the off European match when you know you've already won the domestic league without breaking sweat and only have to push yourself a few times a season.

You can always get better players with more money if you spend it right. I wouldn't be too quick to slaughter the standard of league. Allsvenskan is no better a standard. On 2 different nights Celtic go through and Malmo don't. Celtic don't have the players anymore to be expecting to go through to the Champions League easily.

But the margins are fine, a 95th minute goal in the first leg has arguably decided the whole thing.
