Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Herrera is all over the place out there

Anders be off at. Half time he hasn't done himself Any favours so far.

Romero needs to be far more commanding than that. Left Darmian with loads to do

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

That's Herrera to be subbed at half time or soon after.

Herrera on a yellow this early is very dangerous. I'd be subbing him off for Schneiderlin now.

Ah come on. Any wonder he's had next not no game time this season so far. It'll take him a game or two to get back into the swing of things

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

And that is why Herrera probably isn't being picked by Van Gaal. Off the pace.

It's not bashing. He's been dreadful. Not being helped by those around him but as a lone striker he should be doing more to make life easier for himself. As it is, he's having a slow start like the rest of them.

    I don't know what's rarer, a goal from #9 Rooney or a forward pass.

Not even a Manchester United fan but it's either this or talk to the missus in the next room. I've made my choice.

Would help if one of our attackers dropped off the front. 4-2-4 when we have it in the middle third. All well and good but not a run in behind to be seen.

    Great goal.

    Lovely little finish that.

It just seems over-structured. They seem to be inhibited from improvising. Players also seem pretty static without the ball.

Depay just made my point. Moved out of his "zone", beat players and made the goal

Give Rooney the chances lads and he will score.

United one up and now should go through. . . . Doesn't mask that this is a fairly nothing performance so far though against a poor team in Brugge.

Doesn't Rooney know he's past it?

Great ball and nice finish in fairness.

Lovely pass and lovely finish. Hopefully see more of that in the league and in this game.

Delighted for Rooney. Big goal for us. Hopefully the team settle now and turn on confidence.

Expect it to get worse. They did all their hard work last week. Don't need to do anything really. They can invite Brugge onto them and catch them on the counter.

Why waste energy when most of their players will be playing this weekend?

Poor old Januzaj. Just not in the game yet. Big season for him now he's been given consistent starts in his preferred position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,850 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Its been a while since ive seen anyone come on the scene to make the art of defending look as easy and unfussy not to mention classy as Darmian...

Whens the CL draw lads, Friday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Wayne Rooney has been messed about in his career in terms of where he plays. He can do a job in a lot of positions and that seems to be how he's been deployed.

But the bloke is quite simply a striker. Just play him up front and he'll score goals. Lots of them (not that his goal scoring record is too shabby as it is)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Herrera really is doing nothing for his cause tonight :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Brugge's manager is desperate for the "connection to your opponent lost" message to pop up on screen.

Yeah, hes been poor overall. Hopefully he gets stronger for his own sake.

Tomorrow I think. Though, given how UEFA conduct the draw, expect it to roll over into Friday.

Please let him not be taken off at half time. He is still streets ahead of Januzaj. And what our play is missing in terms of forward play

Of all the new signings clubs have made, I've been most impressed with him. When you look at Mangala, Zouma etc, he has slotted in seamlessly to that team. Like he's been there for years.
