Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liverpool fc v West Ham Utd 3PM Saturday

Liverpool playing at 3 pm on a Saturday? How did that happen? :p

The home side having got off to a satisfactory start with two narrow wins and a credible draw at Arsenal host almost striker free West Ham who continue to look for their first win at Anfield since "Geoff Peters Martin Hurst" scored in 1963.

Last season the home side won 2-0 with goals from Sterling and Sturridge both of whom are otherwise engaged this time. With the news that Henderson and Lallana remain on the sidelines the starting 11 will almost certainly be unchanged from Monday.

West Ham are missing all up front bar the recently arrested Sakho with Adrián and Jenkinson both red carded suspensions at the back. Luckily Reese Oxford is injured so he can't embarrass Liverpool by scoring (that said the officials would surely strike it out ;))

Everyone's Kevin Friend is the man in black.

    Its on Setanta HD.

I'm feeling hopeful for this match, West Ham haven't been able to recreate their Arsenal form as of yet.

I sense a nil nil coming to undo all of Liverpool's good work from Monday.

3-1 Liverpool. Benteke with two and Count Dracula with a wonder goal.

I sense a banana skin result here, hopefully not.

    ^^^^^^^
The line up will depend on the possibility of a slip up.
Hopefully the same starting 11 as last Monday night. Lucas at the base will help shield the back 4 and allow Milner & Can motor forward at times.

Would be typical West Ham to win here after the awful Leicester and Bournemouth performances.
Can't see it though. Easy home win and the Anfield hoodoo to continue for another year.

I had a dream this morning that we scored after 38 seconds, but West Ham equalised after 4 minutes. We won with a second half goal and it finished 2-1. I wouldn't rely on my dream though as the scorer of our opening goal was Mascherano.

  • Could the Poxy spree continue with another couple of dodgy ref decisions going the way of Liverpool
    Definitely maybe

Benteke to score an offside hatrick

Just as I read this Phil Thompson mentions Mascherano, wierd.

Hopefully so anyway. Now that the Man U dynasty is over, these decisions have to go elsewhere. We'll take them when we get them, no bother.

If we get half the decisions we should have on Monday I'll be happy. That'll be a peno and red card in our favour.

Just hope none of the high rollers back West Ham today.

Should control the midfield but I'm worried about the lack of width. Won't be many crosses for Benteke to get on to. Gonna go 1-0 Liverpool.

    Poor headed clearance from Skrtel.

Well that's a pile of balls

Mignolet's positioning, soft down the middle of the goal yet he's nowhere near it.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

    Poor headed clearance from Skrtel.

That was far from the main problem with the attempts at defending.

This could be another of those frustrating ones against a team who (understandably) is sitting very deep and we can't break them down. We'll see how it progresses.

If it does go like that then I could see Moreno coming on as a winger to put some crosses in.

    Stupid from Milner.

Pretty good from Ogbonna so far.

Not overawed playing in such a famous stadium like Old Trafford. :D

Liverpool look like a team that have never played together before.

    We're sloppy. Very.

Lucas isn't in the game at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,689 ✭✭✭bur

Very disjointed. West Ham look dangerous on every counter attack.
