Whats the longer term plan beyond the 50k?
Given your history of injuries are you doing anything different (other than massages from Karl :) )

Few differences with this training block.
1.Ran on the grass more often
    2.Recovery runs much slower
    3.Massages
4.Gym work once a week and more flexibility

Long term plan is to stay injury free.
I'm racing Manchester marathon 2nd April so looking for a big on there. Will take a break and then target Dunshaughlin 10k and then Dublin marathon.

    Today I ran 2 x 2 miles at 6.18 average.This is my target pace for Donadea.Total miles 6.5

Might take tomorrow off and do few on Friday.
Last two marathons no taper so will be interesting to see what suits best.

    Friday:2.5 miles easy

    Race:
Just after 10.5 miles my calf popped and had to pull out.Tried hobble for abit but it was no good.
First time in a race I had to pull out with an injury.

Looking back I made one big mistake I changed footwear to a lighter shoe.I could feel both calfs starting to tighten after 5k.The pace was also 10 seconds per mile faster than I had planned. Not sure how long I will be out for but this time around I'm going to cross train.
McDonald's,Chinese and a ton of chocolate last night I was like a woman after a break up.

Well done to everyone who ran yesterday I have serious admiration for everyone who finished.

Yesterday I ran 10miles average and today park Run Tyron in 17.04
    Calf tender up high(plantaris)
See how next few days go.
