Does your TV work? Can you watch programmes? Does it do what you were happy for it to do when you bought it? If Yes, then what's the gripe? Carry on.

This thread sounds remarkably similar to when people would pay hundreds of pounds for a Hi Fi system and boast about some imperceptible advantage in sound quality.
I guess some things never change.

Hundreds? That would not be regarded as Hi Fi.

You're right actually, anything under a grand was rubbish.

Colour television is fine for me. Everything on top of that is like the emperor's new clothes.

I presume that is just for the cables.

My big bistard telly (takes 2 of us to lift it) is 13 years old, 32" and while I dream of a new telly, I can't afford one yet. This telly has made it through 4 house moves, it's partly fecked, the sound is deteriorating, but as I'm partially deaf I use subtitles anyway... I would miss my huge grey giant in the corner...
When it's busted I'll replace it..
And when I want HD .... I put on my glasses :D

Bought a big Toshiba for about 500 quid around 4 years ago and it's great. It's not smart, it's not 4k, but it does have a HDMI port and a USB port, and I can stream from my laptop (as long as fcking NTL doesn't keep dropping the fcking wifi). It weighs half nothing too. I won't be replacing it until it's dead.

OTOH by brother is constantly upgrading whenever there's a new gimmick and they never seem to work.
