Hi, I am interested in getting a PAT tester for my workshop, house, testing used woodworking equipment ,tools etc
I see various PAT testers on uk ebay that have not been calibrated and wonder if these are still considered usable for my purposes (not professional use)
Can a typical lower end megger/kewtech/robin multi tester perform all the PAT tests ?

A PAT tester is specialist equipment just for PAT testing. Basically there is a visual test and a full pat test. You would need a PAT tester to perform the flash and the earth leakage tests. Some of the tests could be performed by other equipment such as continuity and running current but for a complete test a PAT tester is required.
