    Hi all,

I will be in Ibiza with a friend for 1 week from end of September. We are both in our late thirties so not interested in getting wasted at foam parties etc. well at least not every night. Could anyone recommend an area that's not overly resort like but with some nice restaurants and bars? Also access to scuba diving nearby would be a bonus.

There seems to be mixed reviews about San Antonio so wondering if anyone has been to other nicer areas?

    Thanks

Go to a little place called Santa Eularia, laid back without being dead. Lovely prom and the best restaurants ever, also a gorgeous marina. Lovely boat trip to Formentera (the whitest sand ever) and good bus links to Ibiza town which is great for a night out. There is also a lovely little resort called eEs Cana close to Santa Eularia, beach is gorgeous but Santa Eularia much nicer to stay in. Check out Casa Luis Apartments, we have stayed four times, cheap and cheerful and family run by the friendliest people ever.

Look into a small resort called Cala Llonga is close to Santa Eulalia mentioned above but is a lot more compact. Nice beach, good bars and restaurants. And if you are interested close to a place called Amante that has a cinema on the beach once a week until October.

Absolutely agree with you about Saint Eulalia. Beautiful resort.

Not so sure about Casa Luis though. We stayed there a few years ago and found it all a bit too cheap and cheerful. The food was the worst i've ever had on a holiday, the beds were incredibly uncomfortable and as a general rule of thumb, plastic sheets on the mattress is usually a good indication that you are surrounded by "lively" guests. We weren't mistaken. Police were called a few times, a lot of drunken and rowdy families with young children and ambulances called for drunk guests injuring themselves on 2 occasions. Never again :(

There are far nicer resorts / hotels around the area for the same money and if you're travelling without kids you have the pick of the best of them as most are child free (bonus !!).

San Antonio is a complete kip. Worth taking a trip in some evening for a look and to see Sunset Strip but otherwise avoid it like the plague.

If you plan to go to the cinema on the beach Google "Amante cinema" as tickets can sell out pretty quickly.

Just wondering if anyone else has other recommendations for a quiet resort and apartments preferably accessible by public transport

For Cala Llonga. If you google "Viva Cala Llonga" it will show you all bars, restaurants and accommodation that is available. There bus services running from the town to Santa Eulalia
