Has anyone (resident in ROI) got a sterling credit card for purchases on Amazon, eBay etc and use an online forex broker such as CurrencyFair, Transfermate to pay the monthly bill?

The aim being to avail of favourable forex rates and avoiding commission charges.

Perhaps a prepaid card (like Revolut) would meet your needs? Alternatively you'd need to get a UK bank AC to use currency fair and its peers.

at the end of the day, if you're resident in Ireland and being paid in €, at some stage you'll have to convert from € to £, be it at point of purchase or paying off a Sterling credit card.
not worth the hassle imo for the small savings you might make.

If you're a verified customer with Ulster Bank, you can open a sterling account in Newry by post & email.
