Christ that road is freakishly narrow. It's more like a mountain ledge...

A real pity if Nico does actually go back, whether it's due to team orders or his own tiredness will matter as to his future chances though.

Roche not with the guys pacing Froome, maybe he's tired and feeling the affects of his own crash.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

Nieve still in the main group. Makes you have to assume Roche wasnt ordered back but hes actually suffering

Suspect Roche isn't dropping back deliberately :(

    There is Roche. **** sake

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

Nico looks fooked worse than Froome. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭letape

Clearly Roche is suffering the sane as Froome. Not sure why sky were setting the pace earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

    Roche is completely cream-crackered.

Chance to get back on the descent

So do Sky have anybody in a position to go for GC now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,063 ✭✭✭on_the_nickel

Is Henao with Froome or up the road? Asking for a friend (my wallet).

The vuelta live tracker is a bit crap compared to the Tours, doesn't have live data of where each rider is so we're replying on TV coverage to see where Roche is at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Also, I'm kind of annoyed I cashed out a bet on Aru to win the GC at 10/1 now. I doubled my money, but now he's looking seriously good :(

Nieve started the day 12th I think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,063 ✭✭✭on_the_nickel

Why were Sky pushing it at the front when Froome and Roche were focked?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

Chance to get back on the descent

even if they do (and they wont its nearly 2 mins) its just prolonging the agony

    Don't think they were pushing

    Don't think they were pushing

There was 8 of them at the front of the peleton.

I don't think they were pushing as such. They were riding an easy enough tempo. I suppose to make it look like everything was fine and dandy with Froome etc.

Probably the plan for the day before Froome had his crash, if indeed it's the after affects of the crash that's huring him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Fake tempo/bluffing possibly. Knew they were ****ed today, so tried to fake it as long as possible before Astana took over the pace setting.

    Just a guess

Who is the Sky rider up near the front of the peloton?

    That's Boswell afaik

    Boswell is in the breakaway.

It's Nieve who is left in the main peloton.

Why were Sky pushing it at the front when Froome and Roche were focked?

    Because that's all they know.

Froome: "I'm feeling real good today lads."
"Ok boss. We'll push hard at the front so."

Froome: "I'm not feeling too good here lads."

Only 36km to go! The worst is behind them now hopefully.

And a nice handy 36km it is too.

Obviously my comment in jest but not quite entirely. Last year's Vuelta I remember the Sky dom's managing to push a pace a couple of times in the earlier parts of the race that dropped Froome out the back.

Never saw that account before. It's demented. I don't get half the jokes but the crappy photoshop jobs still make me laugh.

Valverde and Purito have nearly a minute lead over Dumoulin on the descent!

good decending by purito and valverde really giving them an advantage ahead of the final climb.

I cant stand Valverde I really hope he tanks it on the final climb grr

Like this one. I presume it's some offbeat reference to the first post-Franco government in Spain, but I don't actually know and I don't care because it's funnier when I don't get it.

Would be great if Rodriquez could finally win a grand tour. Has to drop that weasel Piti first though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭letape

Aru back up to Rodriquez and Valverde group now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Meanwhile, Froome is only 3/4 minutes back now? If he can maintain that, it's theoretically recoverable..

Anyone seen Roche recently? Presume he's somewhere between the Aru group and the Froom wagon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭letape

Is Nico now ahead of the Froome group again?

He could possibly be behind Froome and Thomas?

last time he was seen he was dropping behind the Froome group and looked fecked. Id be shocked if hes not way off the pace by now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO
