It is absolutely hilarious that some people are picking the Broncos as the surprise bad team. Clearly people have little understanding at the developments at Dove Valley.
The Broncos could well have the best defence in the league this year - they have four seriously good pass-rushing OLBs who will terrorise QBs, are very strong through the middle, one of the best underrated CB tandems in the league, and solid safeties. Phillips already has the defence firing on all cylinders and it is only going to get better.
The question mark is over the offence and the ability of Manning to play. The first thing to note is that the Broncos are going to be significantly better running the ball than last season behind the zone blocking running offence of Kubiak and Dennison. This will take some pressure off Manning. Kubiak has adapted the WCO to facilitate Manning and if the adaption works then Manning will be effective. Furthermore Osweiler has the skill set necessary for the WCO and has shown in ore-season than he can run the full blown WCO effectively. Kubiak has installed an offence that will allow the Broncos to switch seamlessly between Manning and Osweiler - and Osweiler will play a lot this season - creating problems for opposing coaches who will have to gameplay for two potential offences when they play the Broncos.
Lastly - the Broncos defence is going to be so effective that the Broncos offence will not have to score a lot of points to win games. Expect the Broncos to win the AFC West - there isn't really much competition in the division - and expect them to go deep into the play-offs.
Prediction
Defensive player of the year - Von Miller
Offensive Player of the year - CJ Anderson0 -
AFC North Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
AFC South Winner: Indianapolis Colts
AFC East Winner: New England Patriots
AFC West Winner: Denver Broncos
AFC Wildcards: Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens
NFC North Winner: Green Bay Packers
NFC South Winner: Atlanta Falcons
NFC East Winner: Dallas Cowboys
NFC West Winner: Seattle Seahawks
NFC Wildcards: Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles (I have the Eagles tied with the Cardinals for that last wildcard spot, the Eagles ultimately sneak in via a home win over the Cards at Christmas)
AFC Championship Game: New England Patriots vs Pittsburgh Steelers
NFC Championship Game: Green Bay Packers vs Seattle Seahawks
Super Bowl: Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Super Bowl Winner: Green Bay Packers
MVP: Aaron Rodgers
Offensive Player of the Year: Aaron Rodgers, but the MVP rarely wins this award so I'll give it to another QB I think will have a great season - Ben Roethlisberger
Defensive Player of the Year: J.J. Watt
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Amari Cooper
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Vic Beasley
Comeback Player of the Year: Adrian Peterson, though I'd love to see Eric Berry have a great season and claim this award
Surprise Team (Good): Minnesota Vikings. I think they win 10 games this season and reach the divisional round of the playoffs. Bridgewater to take the next step, Peterson to come back and be peak Peterson and Zimmer to win Coach of the Year.
Surprise Team (Bad): I think the Bears will be awful. New head coach, a change in defensive scheme without really having the right personnel at the moment, Jay Cutler is Jay Cutler, Kevin White's injury, Matt Forte coming into that period where RB's often start to decline, a very tough division in which the Vikings should be much improved. I think there's a lot going against the Bears this season. I think they finish with a top 5 pick in next years draft. On the plus side for them, the 2016 draft is filled with top defensive talent.
Breakout Player: My man Teddy Bridgewater and Allen Robinson of the Jaguars.
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: I feel Drew Brees may well be finished and unfortunately I think it will become very clear throughout a rough season for him.
Worst Overall Record: Washington Redskins.
Audacious Prediction of the Season: 1) the AFC North to become only the second division in NFL history to send 3 teams to the playoffs in consecutive seasons. 2) the NFC South to be the only division winner ever to have a losing record for the 2nd year in a row. 3) Jay Gruden to be fired in the 1st week of October after being demolished at home to the Eagles leads to a 0-4 start and a revolt from the fans.
Your own team: Baltimore Ravens
Regular Season Record: 10-6, a wildcard playoff spot
Best Rookie: Breshad Perriman
Most looking forward to seeing: How the offense adapts to yet another offensive coordinator change. Also, Steve Smith's last ride. I can't see him going quietly one way or another!0 -

MVP: Aaron Rodgers
Offensive Player of the Year: Andrew Luck, assuming Rodgers gets the MVP
Defensive Player of the Year: JJ Watt
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Amari Cooper
Defensive Rookie of the Year: No idea
Comeback Player of the Year: Adrian Peterson
Surprise Team (Good): Minnesota Vikings. With Peterson back and Bridgewater to kick on, I think they could be good.
Surprise Team (Bad): Dallas Cowboys. Murray's loss and Bryant's contract issues should cause them problems.
Breakout Player: Ryan Tannehill
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Jameis Winston

Best Rookie: Ameer Abdullah Would have to give it to our 5th round pick, nickleback Quandre Diggs
Most looking forward to seeing: Progression from the offence in the 2nd year of the new scheme & being back to a top 10 offence once again & the hoping the defence can stay somewhat decent with Ngata replacing Suh. Well the OC got fired so that didn't work out & the defence took a huge step back, missing Levy all season
My divisional picking was horrendous & the rest wasn't much better.0 -
