    Hi,
    Do I need to notify the branch beforehand to make a cash withdrawal up to €13k from a current account?

    Thank you for for getting in contact with us here on Boards.ie. 

    Any withdrawals for 5K or more will require 24 working hours notice and this can be arranged by contacting the branch by phone prior to your visit. Contact details can be found here on our website. 

    Just to mention, you will also require photo identification on the day of either passport or drivers licence.

    And possibly a whole pile of hassle, being asked what you want your money for, belong pushed into taking a draft instead of cash etc.
    Maybe things have improved abit in this regard but at the time when people were afraid of the banks going bust, there was a whole pile of crap put in the way when you wanted to get your hands on your cash.
