Fan of the High5 lemon and lime caffeine one.
    Where'd you get the banana?

hmmm gels, i prefer a can of coke,

on the have a word with a cyclist, isn't that what made the recent luas campaign so purely judged, you'd not have seen them do a have a word with a car driver.

    Everyone's different.
Did all my road races last year on nothing, just water / high5 in the bottle. Taking gels this year they've made an enormous difference to how I feel and what I can do in a race, and how fcuked I am after them.

Never taken one training, or for a spin, or racing track, but racing on the road definitely yes. I wouldn't fancy racing with a can of coke in my pocket :pac:

I saw a young woman on the phone driving a blue car yesterday, could you have a word while you're doing the rounds.

I expected a bit more class from a mod, seems like I expected too much.
If I see her,I'll tell her you said hi,and I'll ask her to respect the 1.5m distance in case she spooks your high horse.

They came as part of a variety box in Lidl one time. I'd love to pick up a full box at some point.

How dare people question your authority.

Bit of a big boards can you help shout out!
One of my friends (and boardsie) is doing the TCR, no 217 (rides for UCD): http://www.transcontinental.cc
Arrived in Belgium for the start today and the bike didn't land with him- a beautiful Parlee Chebacca and ALL of his kit.
    https://mobile.twitter.com/Transcon_Ben/status/890193556278833153

Has anyone any connections / work in/with with Aer Lingus or baggage handling between Dublin and Brussels? TCR starts Friday, so there's only a day to get it together - over a year's worth of work building up to it then this happens....

What a bummer!!!!!!!!! Ben is doing TCR? He kept it well under wraps here!

I hope they will sort it out in a blitz.

I was cut up by a nutter driving a silver BMW yesterday on the M6. When you see him will you give him a bollicking.
I've told you before about going for those KOM's on motorways - yes, they are a piece of cake, but that's only because most decent cyclists are not daft enough to go for them....

Best of luck to the man, he could have done without that stress.

Any idea what his daily distance target is?
    https://reportage.transcontinental.cc/?page_id=2409

Off the 76 solo finishers last year the range was 130km-422km/day between first and last. All the top riders in these things seem to be able to do 400km/day; which unsupported, with all the stress that entails is savage.

The man who took 5 weeks to do it probably enjoyed it though.

2 weeks of dot watching ahead, fcuk ya anyway!:)

He's aiming to do it in 10 days, it's about 4000k in all I think.
    Not a bother to him!

In with the doc yesterday and told I'll be another month off the bike with the shoulders, at which point he recommended going back to the flat bar bike for short spins. Arse! Will have to look at getting the turbo set up.

Hopefully you are up the mountains soon after you get back on the bike. Best of luck with your recovery.
