First day commuting of the year has me wondering... the whole cyclists on the footpath thing comments sections normally have, well I wonder how much is pedestrians walking in the bloody cycle lane (beside a perfectly good footpath) and them not realising it/ paying attention?

Being Australia I would nt be surprised if it was intentional.

obviously not about cycling, but pertains to how society can become so car-dependent:

I like Donald Shoup a lot. I especially like the way an economist who has specialised in what at first glance is a rather dry subject has a website called shoupdogg.com

    What part of the country?

There aren't too many sportives so early in the year but there are several Audax events in Jan/Feb/March such as King's Mountain 200, Orwell 200, Tara 200.

horrible late late anti cycling piece last night, the low point being called animals by a social media influencer, and then throwing a helmet in a bin.

Like others i made formal complaint to rte regarding the piece

Dublin/leinster/ulster, primarily. I saw stickybottle had one for 2017 that was pretty exhaustive, saw nothing similar this year though

Just getting myself ready for a spin and while sitting here waiting on my buddy I can see that my bike is the dirtiest it's ever been. Not sure I can cope

Washed mine yesterday. Club spin today. Looks like it never saw water. Don’t bother. Just keep the group set grit free

Anyone going through Maynooth today there's a thin layer of grey slime on the Tesco roundabout & the street that leads to the old NUI building.

Looks like Eir Sports will have coverage of the Tour Down under this year. 2am live and repeated later in the day.

Also on Freesports on satellite according to the site but haven't heard of that channel myself.

Changed the BB after it had developed a nasty grinding noise. All was fine until a few days later and now theres a slight squeaking noise when pedalling. :o

you're clearly putting too much power through the pedals.

Would love a cycle tonight but have college after work, it'll be just too miserable to enjoy after 10pm and I'm on the go since 6am. Sake, newly single and still no time to get out :pac:

I am usually not allowed out with the club from early nov till sometime after feb due to my principled stance on the issue.
