    Tagging is not art.

There's some fantastic street art around, but tagging an ESB box is not it.

There is some pleb who calls himself "Evoker"(?) that is on a mission to tag every square inch of Dublin City Centre with his sh tty f cking tag.

If only I had the funds to hire a hitman....
Actually, we at the Templeogue Residents' Association are looking for information that will lead to the arrest of the person who tags as 'Evoke'. The tagging is appearing everywhere, and costs money to erase. That money could be spent for better causes.

If anyone knows who 'Evoke' is, we would very much like to know. You can send a PM to me, or contact your local Garda station.

Something can be art and vandalism at the same time.

I'm must remember that when I finish my next bag of cans and **** them onto the street...

As for this guy he cleaned it up and paid a fine. His lawyer's defense was transparent to the judge. Besides, he's no like Banksy; Banksy never got caught.

    Not a defence.

    He pleaded guilty.

It was said in mitigation. Hardly outrageous, in fact it's perfectly reasonable to suggest that it may be art. Think I'd have left out the "and Banksy made loadsa money" bit though.

I wouldn't call this defacing. Quite the opposite.

This is more the visual equivalent of a bunch of dogs pissing on a lamp post.

someone owns that wall and they hire a ''street artist'' to paint the mural or they paint it themselves, fair enough, but if you do that to someone elses property without permission its vandalism and you're a scumbag
I'm must remember that when I finish my next bag of cans and **** them onto the street...

''Its a modern art piece'' :D

He's some young fella up around Sundrive. He's been caught before (there are articles online). After that it went quite for a bit. Now that goddam ****e is making a reappearance again.

I would actually like to see every bone in his "can" hand broken. There must still be a few thousand of his crappy tags around town. The damage caused by one little prick..

DCC's Dublin Canvas project is great though (IMO). Some of the artists they have found are brilliant. These are they guys repainting the ESB boxes (with permission). They specifically target boxes that have been repeated targets of tagging.
