Query on carers allowance

Hi there Can someone tell me if your on Jobseeker's Allowance, and are applying for carers allowance, what payments do you get, I was told that you get the same amount as jobseekers! When I went on the carers page it says you can keep your jobseekers and get Half the cares allowance. Confused!
