Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just because O 'Shea is a Big guy.....Refs just let him be fouled left right and centre.......He controls himself well all things considered......

Jesus! Mayo are a disgrace. Incredible if they lose this game. A complete embarrasment. And it's looking like Derry.

    This is frustrating.

How in the name of god is AOS still on the pitch? He's absolutely shattered, says a lot about Rochford's thoughts on our bench.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 730 ✭✭✭Eyes Down Field

Mayo can't kick a point. This is horrible.

Beauty of a goal from Loftus, that's the kind of forward play we've been crying out for. Massive moment, we might just be looking back on that one later in the summer.

And a point for him now, quality stuff.

ET. What a mess. Even if Mayo come through this. It doesn't look good. Derry I feel have missed their chance, They look tired out the and in extra time the endurance and fitness of Mayo will scrape it in the end.

Are the Mayo Football team trying to kill the population of Mayo............

Don't deserve to win it after that last miss by Seamie
    Mayo god help us
    :(

Mayo players, forwards in particular, become gutless when they catch sight of goals.

Any forward unwilling to shoot when he has the chance should be dropped and banned from playing for mayo ever again. A couple players come to mind.

Either Rochford has no control over this team or worse he has. Either way its a damning indictment of his management.

Mind boggling how reluctant the management are to make changes. Stephen Coen and Donal Vaughan really struggled to make any impact. I

I'm sure he did, but maroon eyes don't do anything for me;)

Coen was all right bar bad two kicks.
Cafferkey for a tall lad is useless under a high ball. The derry goal was his fault.

Imagine if hennelly had conceded that goal ......

If Mayo lose, Rochford has to go.

He's conceded many goals, most of them a lot softer than that one.

Awful, dreadful shooting. Laughably bad. Disgraceful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Don't know where O'Shea is finding the energy from but he's stepping up in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,907 ✭✭✭✭Kristopherus

Cracking start by Mayo. That Derry goalkeeper was having a very good game until that blunder.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,133 ✭✭✭Shurimgreat

Clarke proves he's the best keeper in the country again. Saves Mayo again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Best keeper in the country steps up again. The amount of goals he's prevented in the last 12 months is mad altogether.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,907 ✭✭✭✭Kristopherus

    Great save by Clarke.

He might be awful slow with the kickouts but he's our David Clarke.

    David Clark is God.......

Durcan sent off now, so is he suspended for round 3?

Straight red is trouble. Defo 1 match, could be 2 iirc.

For a strike off the ball too say the commentators, looks bad alright.

Just 1 because he got a red. I think he should get a barrister and appeal it

Can someone figure out Clarke's penalty save ratio.

I'd say it's above 50% at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Looks a bad one for Keegan, hopefully not the end of the championship for him.

My God, Bernard Flynn is very hard to listen to. He's like the Ronnie Whelan of GAA commentary... "Why did he do that, that was a sitter he missed, how did he not see that, why didnt he catch that".

Agreed. Boyle is tenacious but those two are the quality in the HB line, won't get far in their absence.

I can see today why Boyle was dropped against Galway
His man kicked 3 pts from play at least in first hour before going off

The Derry team just ran out of gas in at the end of the game, they had nothing left in the tank for extra time.

Mayo win but It's a hollow victory, Unless they seriously step up their game, They don't have a prayer against Dublin, Kerry, Tyrone etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Which disciplinary board is the one that'll let Paddy off the hook for the strike? I know the other two don't work. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,357 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Just in the door... had to sit through that with 5 kids under 10. It was hard to watch between the toilet breaks.

I could do with a one match ban.

Every minute listening to that on the way home was torture.

Durcan was provoked, the Derry lad had a grip on his jersey and would not let go,did the umpire/linesman see that side of it.Not saying that Durcan was right in doing what he did but he was provoked, perhaps he could get Diarmuid Connollys legal team to clear his name1

    Makes absolutely no difference.

It is against the rules to retaliate.

Almost every red card in the game is a reaction to some sort of provocation like that.
