Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If we lose or draw tonight I swear to god this Irish team should never be left home.

If we do finish 3rd we will get Holland in the playoffs
At the rate they're going, I wouldn't be that surprised if The Netherlands failed, and instead Turkey getting that 3rd.

FFS why doesn't Hoolahan just bloody take a first time shot instead of dicking around with the ball!

    Keep possession. Tire them out.

Feels like I've been watching this game for about 4 hours.

    Ireland are a hard watch.

    No.

    He made it over there.

Can't criticise the team now, they have done enough for a comfortable win.

More of a work out this for Monday, which has now become a big game.

This was doing the rounds at the game apparently.

No, the defenders are playing against better players.

Probably feels that way because Scotland were on beforehand. ;)

Scotland will try and have our points taken off us due to that guy bringing a political message into the ground.

Suppose. More hope of us nicking something out in Poland than at home to Germany

Of course, gives us a sniff of auto qualification

I am amazed someone has referred to "the Germans" as "the Germans" and not "ze Germans".

    Absolutely amazed.

Turned over to that, now Mrs Crinklewood won't allow me turn back.

She has fallen in love with Mario Götze.

Will try and turn back now though, she's been in the bathroom for the last 15 minutes ( what she's doing with the blender I have no idea )

Great results today. Ireland getting a bit of luck, make the most of it now beat Georgia and go on and qualify. Lovin that chant from the Irish fans in riposte to the Tartan Army in Dublin last June.

You do realize the Poles are playing these "Gibralterians" on Monday night at home?

Job done. Up to third. Have to be happy with how the day has gone for us.

Now time to do the business against Georgia.

    Massive game now against Georgia

    Time for a cocktail

Rep Ireland v Georgia is a must win game I think

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,231 ✭✭✭Hercule Poirot

To be fair, even if we had won this 10 or 15 nil it wouldn't have mattered - all that mattered was turning up and getting the three points

The way RTE display the table with points first is stupid and confusing. I thought Poland had played 14 games to our 12 whilst Gibraltar haven't played any.

    I don't think so!
    Long is like Robbie.
It looks simple, but its all about being in (or arriving at) the right place at the right time.
The rest of them botched up bucket loads of chances, and the defenders didn't get one header on target all night despite tons of space.

Job done. Need to make the most of the slip up and beat Georgia.

Can we say, overall, that this night in Group D has gone basically as well as could have been hoped from Ireland's perspective?
