Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lucky its on where I am

I'm content with the first half, I think Gibraltar will tire because they have put in a good effort to stay in the game in the first half

The thing we need to do is stretch out the play a bit, we are a bit to narrow in midfield

To be fair we should be 2 or 3 up

It's like San Marino and Lietchenstein all over again!

It's one of those games, we are dominating and one nil up.

We'll knock a few more in second half

They were expected to do good in first half and then tire

You know, I'm not annoyed - I'm just sad at how poor a team we have. They try hard, but there is no quality there.

    2 holding midfielders against Gibraltar.

    Why Martin, why?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,036 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

At least over the first 30 minutes we actually had pressure...those last 15 minutes we were getting opened up embarrassingly easy considering the circumstances...

Really need to cop on a bit and put them to the sword.

Could come down to GD between us and Scotland so they better start scoring.

Would you not even have a cursory glance at the rules for splitting teams tied on points?

I dont think Martin is telling both of them to stay back, its just a case of both players not having a brain cell between them work between them who goes forward and who holds. This has been going on a while and MON/Keane havent sorted it out

Wasn't Germany only a goal or two up by HT as well against these guys? Its still pretty bad though.
I went for Gibraltar +4 at 6/4, think I'm in good shape :o

Both Poland and Germany only led by a goal at HT, although Germany did go on to beat them 7-0. Dont expect that from us.

Not looking as good for Georgia now.

    Well la dee da.

I haven't got the rule book on me so I assumed GD.

I can still see us winning by 4+ despite all the criticism here. I think people might be comparing this to our last game against Gibraltar and disappointed we aren't already winning by 4+.

This is the worst team in Europe we're playing against! Not saying it should be a cricket score - but this Gibraltar team should not be holding their own!

Ireland and Scotland finish equal on points Scotland will finish ahead of Ireland on the head to head for beating Ireland in Scotland GD does not matter unless it is tied on the head to head

Now the Gibraltarians are starting to get scrappy and they will tire. Could be a rout now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,243 ✭✭✭✭briany

Shades of father Romeo Sensini from Keane for the finish.

    ....Ooooo, peno.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,194 ✭✭✭FatRat

This could be an incredibly quick hat-trick for Keane if he goes gung-ho for a third!

Also one more and he matches Gerd Muller's record, is that correct?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,088 ✭✭✭Nib

    Yes!

All the Robbie Keane haters will be raging.

  • Get in oh yes
