Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Incase of trouble e la Albania Serbia etc.
Jaysus. Albania and Serbia would make the relationship between ourselves and our northern brethren look like a pillow fight. And even they weren't separated.

Faroese player sent off. Could make the difference between them hanging on to the 1-1 and losing the game.

Edit : Yep, Norn up 1-2.

3-1 NI. Result on Monday night and NI are through. Especially if the other games stays 0-0.

Cracking ball by Silva to Alba to head home. 1-0 Spain.

Costa diving again. Feel bad for the keeper....he did nothing.

30 minutes of free flowing, possession football has been rewarded with a 2-0 scoreline so far. More than deserved.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Ref got conned there, in the Premier League Costa would not have gotten away with that.

I think you will find it was the dive and the ref that rewarded them the 2-0 scoreline.

Spain are playing some lovely stuff though.

Absolutely. The better team by far.

Disallowed goal in Austria, ball headed out by moldovan defender bounces back in off another moldovan to an austrian forward and the resulting goal is ruled offside

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Man what a half, a little slice of heaven that's helped me forget some of the dross I watched yesterday. Playing in a 4-3-3 and with the correct starting lineup, Spain are absolutely formidable. No team controls a game better. A 45 minute masterclass in the philosophy that if you master the ball then you master the game. When you see Spain produce a half of football like that it makes international football all worth it.

Slovaks doing well considering who they are missing.

The Dutch were shambolic again, Cillesen is one of the worst keepers I've seen, certainly the weakest hands.
The Iceland penalty and the Arda goal were both saves if any other keeper got their hands to it.
    No leaders either.
Serious issues, Danny Blind doesnt look like the answer.

Saw a quote yesterday saying that the Dutch don't work without LVG and Man U don't work with him. Not sure it is that valid but it made me laugh anyway.

Meagre fare for the last day with no 5pm kick off in farEastern Europe and Sky compounding it by picking the wrong tie (Slovakia/Ukraine looks the biggest game by far, with Sweden/Austria next best).

    ***
England v Switzerland 7.45 ITV (but not the terrible utvIreland).
    Macedonia v Spain 7.45 SS1.

NI doing it the hard way, threw the Hungarians a soft goal and baird getting himself suspended.

Two points from 2 games will definitely do it, a point might even be enough. Hopefully the greeks stay shambolic.

Would be fantastic if they managed to blow it after the position they put themselves in.

Would be some craic for us to knock them out in a play off.

We'll be alright, two points from Greece or Finland. Not a bother.

    Don't fancy yours much though.

In fairness would take a very special effort for ye to blow it at this stage but it's a possibility and it looked a done deal before the latest round of games. Hopefully ye blow it anyway.

I think we have a very decent chance to be honest. Still a lot of work to do obviously but looks a lot better than it did a week ago

Spain have been pretty poor so far, in front from a fluke cross from Mata that went straight in.

Well the was 45 minutes of football but not much of a game!

Has the feel of a dead rubber.
