Maths problems!

    Could anyone figure this out? I'm getting really close but none of my answers correspond with the BOK.

    I made a quadratic with the factors and then divided it into the long equation but can't seem to find a or b.

    2 and -1 are roots of the equation 6x^4 - x^3.....= 0. Try it that way.

    I tried that method first but got turned off because I kept using the calculator and it messed up the signs hence giving wrong values.

    Really obvious question :o
