Adamstown, Lucan - Is it safe? Need Advice on this area.

Hi, I am thinking of renting an apartment in Adamstown, Lucan. So is the area safe for a family? Can we walk around for a stroll in the nights? I am new to Dublin so need your advice. Thanks in advance. Lastly I know Dublin whole is generally safe and is not a war zone.
