Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Awful half of football.

Lucas has been atrocious, 4 stupid fouls and woeful distribution. The rest have not been much better mind you.

Looked like it at the end of last season and it looks like it this season as well the players don't seem interested in playing for Rodgers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Well it's clear what Rodgers has decided he wants from the game - one point. If Sturridge were fit he rip this Utd side apart but he isn't :(

I can only hope that we see more intent after the break cos defending for 95 minutes and losing 1-0 in the 93rd is more than I could stand

Big Sam would be proud of Liverpool's long ball style.

    Majorly missing Henderson.

People give out when we go away to rivals and go all out to win and call the manager naive... today we go out to try be compact and maybe sneak a goal and the same people give out...

Now i don't give out about the first thing so i feel i can give out about the second. Shocked how bad we are with the ball and i'll echo every comment about Sakho not starting... confidence in the manager is waiving for the first time. I just don't understand the logic in not playing your best players.

I do wonder if we had Coutinho, Sturrdige and Hendo would we be more aggressive in this game...

Also lucas is waaay off the pace as he often is. Most overrated player on this thread. He was superb before the injuries took away his ability to get to the positions he knows he needs to be in. Has the brain but lacks the physical ability.

United will win this 1-0. They've been poor but they will eventually get a break inside the box. Can't see how we're scoring anything at the moment.

Bizarre player to pick out. He had one poor pass, other than that his distribution has been fine. The fouls are inevitable when we're pinning ourselves back like we are

The standout horror shows have been Benteke & Milner

    That was awful. Embarrassing stuff.

There is a reason Milner always played in the final third for City rather than in the centre of the field, like Henderson the best part of his game is what he does around the oppositions box. The midfield might as well not be there at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,723 ✭✭✭MightyMandarin

Firmino and Ings on the flanks is a terrible decision. Benteke needs to have Ings making runs and dragging defenders away from him.

Having said this, both sides have been utter garbage and it's clear what LvG and BR want from this game.

He had at least 2 give aways maybe even more, he's been abysmal, lots of players have been but he's stood out probably because of the ridiculously dumb frees he gave away.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭Hangballlouie

We have too many players that do the simple thing too often, that it must be a directive of the manager. We are awful to watch when we don't have Coutinho on the pitch to try something outside of playing the simple pass. It's a sad state of affairs when our best attacking option for the 2nd half is to bring on Moreno.

Not sure what Benteke can do with balls belted at him from 40 yards away. With no team mates near him. Don't think he'll look back fondly on being shoved off the ball by Blind though.

Brendan Rodgers has turned Liverpool into a poor man's mid-table Swansea despite spending £300m on players.

Lucas is always the scapegoat to the likes of you.

There are some good players on the pitch its just they don't know what to do...

Keep it simple seems to be the philosophy. Don't be adventurous in any way.

Singling out Benteke as a horror show is laughable ott. What more can he do, hes on his own 30 yards away from everyone.

Not saying hes been anyways good but he hasnt had a horror show. Milner yes.

Pass it back and look confused, the Liverpool way.

Not get bossed by defenders significantly weaker & smaller than him for a start.

Bizarre to try and make Benteke a scapegoat.

And it's stifling the players natural creativity...

Benteke is doing what Mario was doing except people complained about Mario instead of the fact that he wasnt getting any service.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

On the rare occasion that Benteke has received the ball, I thought he held it up well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    And that's that.

I honestly don't want to see Rodgers managing this team anymore. I've stood by him long enough, but there's nothing he can do to improve the team. We're going to end up losing this game by two or three goals, because we are absolute shîte going forward.

    Benteke should stop f*cking whinging.

    Rodgers out.

Hundreds of millions spent and this is the result...

Suarez gave us the magic that season, and we all know it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Fair play to Ings...making DeGea look like the 3rd best keeper in the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

If we lose this Rodgers is in a lot of trouble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,723 ✭✭✭MightyMandarin

I really hope John Henry has Klopp's no. handy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

I defend Rodgers a lot but playing 433 but continuing to buy no.10s to play out there (or strikers) is insanity. Not happy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    In Rodgers I trust!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,580 ✭✭✭✭Riesen_Meal

How many more fcuking chances will Rodgers be given.

The longer he stays in charge, the further we'll fall. He'll get us relegated before he gets us a league title.

    Well done Gomez. Amateur stuff

'The Rodgers' is a father of the startoverism branch of philosophy.
