Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wouldn't worry about Can, Brendan improves players.

He improved him immensely when he moved him to midfield on Thursday.

Sakho, Can, and Ings. The only ones with a bit of fight.

At least when the new manager comes in he knows who his leaders will be.

    Ings, meh :pac:

We should have signed 5 Danny Ings this summer. Chap busts a gut

You would have to wonder why he didn't start from the being of the season when we were crying out for a striker to partner Benteke.

My view is that he had to show he'd do what he was told first, cult of Rodgers apprenticeship if you like.

    Sack him.

Wonder if 'The Rodgers' will hang the midfielder he insists on playing at Centre back out to dry for that.

Rodgers really is destroying Can as player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Fking hell, dominated that half and concede a ridiculously soft and jammy goal.

Can scuffs it into Skrtels heel it then pops up on to Lukakus chest then perectly on his left foot, jammy baxtards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

The players on the pitch would be fine if they were played in a diamond. I hate this three at the back. And if you insist on playing this formation how about not playing a midfielder back there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

I'd bring Sturridge on for the second half.

Can at CB made an error and so its Rodgers fault for putting him there us a solid theory but to be fair the chap has recently played internationals football as a defender.

    It's football mistakes happen.

Just because he played for Germany as a full back doesn't mean we should be playing him as a defender. There is no real logic to that. He's been poor for us as a defender this season and the last bit of last season too.

Played more centrally in defence he was good for us last season :)
Kicking ball across your own box us frowned upon at under 10 level, it was a mistake.

Can't agree with that and I an Rodgers biggest critic but I don't believe Can was ever the amazing player some made him out to be on here

    Another pissy performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Sakho's gone into beserker rage mode.

I'm sick of 1-1 draws. Better than losses, but still really irritating. 5 from 6 games now.

He had a spell before he was comprehensively found out as a CB by everyone but Brendan. Seems like a long time ago now.

Agree that Can bears the blame for what would be a pants clearance by anyone, regardless of position.

I'd love to know what sparked that off? I thought he was going to go through Lukaku if he got hold of him

An acceptable result. I didn't enjoy the game, really.

  • Registered Users Posts: 147 ✭✭Thidp

    Horrible performance and result.

It would have been better if we had lost 4-1, 4-0 or something... at least he would be gone, I guess.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Sometimes you just have to laugh at games. Sakho seemed almost determined to win a red card bet there. An away draw is not the worst and yet it really feels like the actual result is almost a side issue.

Just waiting for the other shoe to drop at this stage.

Still no excuse for a terrible clearance. I'd expect a goalkeeper in that position to be able to clear the ball.

Meanwhile in the real world, the sh!te performances risk us losing one of our best players.

He was brutal today, still not consistent.

Another draw, just the type of result to allow Rodgers to limp on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,930 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Someone better let Sturridge know the game is over where ever he was hiding he might not know yet.

First half had some redeeming features. The 2nd half was just a bowl of primordial soup.
