The run of games since defeat at Man Utd

    1-1 Bordeaux
    1-1 Norwich
    1-1 Carlisle
    3-2 Villa
    1-1 Sion
    1-1 Everton

In each of the drawn games Liverpool has opened the scoring and has been pegged back within 15 mins.

    We're going absolutely nowhere.

When every game comes down to an individual error then there's a bigger problem. Every player we introduce into our defence suddenly becomes prone to errors, it's been going on since Rodgers joined the club. Can't use it as an excuse.

And what's the reason behind it?

Rodgers is telling them to go out there and forget how to play football? Forget how to do things they would have learned as children?

    Sakho is boss!

    37/38 passes completed
    100% tackles won
    75% headers won
    7 clearances
    1 block

Oh yeah I forgot sakho can't pass

And 2 eyes popping out :)

    Our midfield was non existant.

    Not Sturridge's fault really.

He was kept on because he's the only one you'd trust to actually put a chance away if it came to him.

We just weren't good enough today to give him any.

Especially 2nd half we were utterly atrocious going forward.

    I noticed Ings was playing.

I'm sure he's not doing that, but when they play for him it looks that way.

At least Dick Advocaat had the decency to step down.

You cannot blame the manager, no matter who he is or the situation, for players making stupid mistakes like Can today and Mignolet against Norwich. Bash him all you like for things that he controls but things like that? Nah, I'm not having that.

Is anyone blaming Mourinho for the Chelsea errors recently?

He just didn't have the bottle to ride it out and face sacking

Would you resign from a high paid job and forfeit ur salary ?
    I think not
Therefore BR like Jose will never resign

In the first half maybe. He didn't have any impact 2nd half either.

But anyway, he's fully fit (injury in this game notwithstanding) and he's a workhorse.
Sturridge isn't either of those things.

But Can was placed in that position by the manager and everyone can see he is uncomfortable, even piss poor, in that position. He is not a CB.

    Utd 2-0 down :D

Can't blame the manager for individual mistakes but you can blame him for repeatedly shoehorning a midfielder into centre back when it's common knowledge he's prone to mistakes like that.

So Toure would have been preferable to start today?

Toure, Gomez, 4 at the back... plenty of options ahead of Can starting at CB.

Who said Toure would have been preferable?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭Hangballlouie

    Just seen this tweet by @JimBoardman: Liverpool's last 9 games: 1-1, 1-1, 3-2, 1-1 (3-2 pens), 1-1, 1-1, 1-3, 0-3, 0-0

That's a horrible looking run of results. The type of run Stoke used to have under Pulis.

He wants to play 3 at the back. Without Can, that leaves Toure and Gomez.

Who would you have played out of those 2? Lukaku would have had a field day against Gomez which leaves Toure.

That's my only opinion of course.

Mig telling Lukaku to just leave now before Sakho kills him

    CQerlpaWgAAr7Mf.jpg

Lukaku : ''I thought I recognised you! I gave you a plate of corn muffins back in 2012 to paint my chicken coop and you never did it! ''

Sakho :Those corn muffins were lousy!"

    Lukaku "Paint my chicken coop!"

    Sakho "Make me!" (fistfight starts)

Is to blame for anything, ever? Is any manager? What's a manager even for, in your understanding of football?

Football management and coaching is about, amongst other things, getting players to eliminate errors from their game. Under Rodgers, errors are proliferating. He's the only guy left at the club from last season in an outfield coaching role with the senior side. Who else could possibly be to blame at this stage for the ongoing trend of error riddled performances from all of the players under his management?
Is anyone blaming Mourinho for the Chelsea errors recently?

I've heard and read any number of folk blaming Mourinho for the way Chelsea are playing. I'd have to have been locked up in the bottom of the Ailwee caves not to have.

I will be neither attacking nor defending the manager. I've said my piece and have no more to say on the matter.

Rodgers added that while fourth place is seen as a minimum acceptable target by many supporters, nobody within the club had ever specified Champions League qualification.

“In all my time at the club it has never been said to me, in the whole time I’ve been at the club.

“It has been an internal ambition from myself and the coaching staff and the players, they want to be there and we did that. And we did that against the odds a couple of years ago.

“We weren’t meant to get anywhere near that but we did. We lost the quality and had to rebuild again and we will fight to be there. I have never been asked or told to deliver that by anyone at the club since I came in.”

    BOLLOX

The way he tries to lower the expectations of this great club should be a sackable offence alone!

He is turning the club into a joke and we are becoming one with him as manager.

I don't want to start an argument and if I'm honest, I'm not even expecting a proper reply but I have to ask. What are your expectations at the start of every season? Not hopes, I mean expectations.

I have no interest in discussing the comments by Rodgers, I just want to know what people expect of the club.

John Henry targets TOP 4 under Dalglish

BRENDAN RODGERS INSISTS Liverpool can fight off stiff competition to secure a top-four finish next season.
The 40-year-old, who guided the Reds to seventh last term, feels his side now needs no more than a couple of additions to reach their target.
He told The Daily Mirror: “I’m not here to be comfortable, to sit and earn the money and just enjoy being Liverpool manager.
“There’s a pressure that comes with it and I believe we’re in a much better place to challenge now. I think we can do it – I believe we have built a real good base this year. Of course, it will be a tough ask because, as we improve, other clubs will have masses more money to do so as well.
“But it’s not my job to look for excuses, I have to find the solutions to try to push us in there – and I believe we won’t be too far away.
“What we showed last season was promise. There were moments of disappointment and moments of delight, but when I look at the reality of it we scored 47 goals the year before and this time got 71 – and we hope to add to that amount.”
    .

So Henry targeted a top4 finish under Dalglish but has never once mentioned it to Rodgers in 3 and a bit years.

    Good news everyone!
back in the year the club came second, the good form coincided with my drug taking due to my broken foot.
Well a tree fell on my hand today and I think it's ****ed. So maybe a bit of form is coming.
Also on the bad side it's a pain to type one handed with my bad hand.

    I don't know.

I watched that clip Agent C posted and I agreed with most things he said.

What do you want him to say?

Apart from him handing in his notice.
