Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just as expected, the posters involved in most of the vitriol posted about Rodgers are the ones here wishing him the best. Pathetic.

You honestly need to get a ride mate. I'm willing to start a kickstarter to get you a brazzer if that would help. I'll throw a tenner in to get the ball rolling.

You'd be fuming if you had him first to leave a club

I'm happy at least that the new manager doesn't walk in to a season that has already been lost.

We are not by any means out of the picture in the league and still with all to play for in the EL.

As to our new manager - head says Ancelotti, heart says Klopp. Would be happy with either, although I'd have some doubts about both.

could easily see Rodgers as Newcastle coach soon enough.

He'd be an eejit to do that.

Best to let that club just die in a corner.

He shouldn't be in a hurry. He's just received a pile of cash and any number of clubs from about 10th in the PL and down would be happy to give him a go.

Why will you believe whatever he comes out and says?

I suspect Rodgers will try and put the blame for his failures everywhere except at his own door. That has been his style throughout his time at the club, no reason to change now

Probably because I believe with regards to the transfers, it's probably not all on him.

It really actually doesn't matter, though.

Finally common sense prevailed. Should never have been given this season but it is what it is.

Looking forward to a new chapter.

Speaking of bets, did anyone take any of the ones floating around here about him not getting sacked before Christmas?

Had 20 on before Christmas, but 40 on next to leave (what a Dick!). Small profit.

Best of luck brendan you didn't turn out to what I hoped but you gave your all. I'll never forget 13/14 it was the best ride I had as a pool fan.

Looking forward to the future hopefully we make an ambitious appointment.

The money spent doesn't match the results he achieved. Fair play to him for being able to harness Suarez, but even "that season" was ultimately disappointing and we only had ourselves to blame for not winning the league. Probably should have gone after the 6-1, but I think the goodwill from the previous year allowed him another chance. I believe the squad we have now are better than the results we have been getting, I hope the new boss gets them playing at their potential.

I hope it's ancelotti. Crazy by the owners to allow him to spend money and sack him 8 games in.

I think it shows they are decent people who gave BR an opportunity (& the resources) to turn last season around. BR didn't take the chance and now he's gone. No complaints. Let's get behind the new manager whether it's Klopp, Ancelotti or AN Other.

All the best to Rodgers, he didn't achieve a whole lot in his time at the club but he gave us one hell of a season to enjoy and has left a fairly good squad behind for the next manager to play with.

Rodgers had 3 full seasons tbf.

I wish Rodgers all the best wherever he goes. As Dub13 said, 2013/14 was one of my favourite seasons, certainly my favourite trophyless one anyway.

He was given enough time and it was clear early on this season that nothing was changing and he wasn't going to hit those heights again.

A good time to make the change as well going into the international break. I just hope they make a big appointment that states intent.

    It's a harsh sacking.
He will take over Man City in future and link up with Sterling to kick our ass.

Will Sterling have learned how to kick a ball into a net by then?

    Doubt it tbh.

This needs to be seen by everyone.

With a big club they get the right person and keep them. Rodgers wasn't the right person. It's not just a few results going against them, it's this season, last season and the end of the season before. The pattern is there, it's time to break the cycle and get back to the top 4.

Ayers has done some great work in dragging our commercial side of things up from the really underwhelming position they were in for far too long.

Why? Because of all the fantastic work he has done with sponsorship deals?

So its all up in the air between Klopp and Carlo

Can you imagine players like Ings, Sakho and Can under a manager with Klopps passion

Even if Klopp turns out to be **** he's at least a man you can get behind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

So if Klopp is joining, the transfer committee will be disbanded, per his request.

If he isn't joining, it will more than likely be Ancelotti.

This has been a good day.

The club shop will make a fortune from Horn Rimmed Glasses and Baseball hats if Klopp is given the job.
