Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hate when people come out after we play West Ham and Norwich and say
'' Liverpool just can't compete with Man United , Chelsea or Man City''

We played West Ham and Norwich !

How Man City can affect what we do is beyond me. We play them once away from home in league, they can have those 3pts for all I care. What we do, how we perform in up to us, no one can influence us, no one can stop us beating Villa except us or Villa !

    Bang on.

Of course that hasn't been helped by his failure to get them into the CL. That's the priority at a club like Ajax, and he failed in that regard this season
Is that a subtle attempt to brand Frank de Boer a failure?

The average age of the Ajax team in the Champions League qualifiers this season was 21 years, qualifying for the group stage was far from guaranteed.

Never managed outside of spain, young, has potential. The hipsters choice - herald him now and bask in the glory of your talent spotting.

Or you know, go for Carlo IF available, a guy who has won it all.
A proven winner with a lesser club similar to ourselves.

Has worked with a DOF very very successfully.

Has Sevilla playing fantastic football for a long time now.

A lesser club similar to ourselves. We are trying to get better. You **** upwards, sideways if you have to, never down. We try to bang Carlo and Klopp, and if it doesn't work out we end up taking someone like your Seville man home.

This is why I am cautious when it comes to change. It reminds me of the Brian kerr situation. I was happy for kerr to go providing ireland got a better man in, the rest is history.

Not sold on carlo or klopp

And that's football fans for you. I was disgusted when Kerr went, all because John Delaney came along with his gormless bullsh!t.

What I'd like to see today
    Migs
    Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
    Allen
    Milner Coutinho
    Lallana
    Sturidge Ings

I expect it will be a back 3 tho with Can, Lallana on the bench and Coutinho in the no 10.
Could also be Lucas instead of Allen in midfield I hope its Joe tho as Lucas with 3 at the back is far too negative.

    This.

I know it's 25+ years on, and my memory might be letting me down, and I did my best to listen to them as little as possible as much back then as I do now, but did you hear Utd fans mewling in the '80's about "only" being Utd and not being able to compete with "bigger" clubs, pointing at balance sheets and clutching their pearls?

Did you ***. I'll give them that much (the ****s!).

    I think we'll win today.

But, I digress. In summary, for the people who didn't wanna read all that...

    I think we'll win today.

Villa are being managed by a lad who thinks he can drop Jack Grealish back into a holding role when 2-0 up away from home and then claim the players let him down. In other words, not Albert Einstein.

We should tear them apart like the last Buffalo wing, sitting in the puddle of hot sauce. Remains to be seen, though...

    TL,DR.

    Reckon a win also, 2-0.

And we can all blame the guy at fault if it doesn't happen.......

Even though a back three seems more negative, does having 2 centre backs, our only width (full backs) further back and Lucas really make us more attacking?

I don't know enough about Dutch football to say whether or not he's a failure, but it's a fact that he did fail to achieve what is the clubs primary aim every season. I realise it's far from guaranteed, but it is certainly achievable and Ajax no doubt have a budget that would dwarf their competitors in the qualifiers. Similar to Deila at Celtic

Can someone explain that Spurs result to me.

Surely that can't count if they only have the 6th highest budget.

It's almost as though well-coached, motivated players can go out on the actual football pitch and determine their own club's fate by playing football.

It was a weak performance and team from city, let's not get over excited by one result shall we.

That's 50% of the amount of times they have to play them in the league.

    Sturridge is BACK! :)

He may keep Rodgers in a job :(;)

Well a great second half for the neutral but a bit too heart stopping for me at times. I really don't see how Can can be seen as a long term solution to a defending problem and that sort of thing is why Rodgers will remain under scrutiny.
