Query re importing a leaf

Hi all, Am looking at importing a Nissan Leaf from the UK as it looks to be about 13k cheaper than buying here for a 2014 model. there doesnt appear to be any VRT on it as well which is amazing. My question is regarding the government grant,, as a private buyer am I entitled to this or do i have to buy via a nissan outlet…

Can you tell me where you got your leaf from we are searching the web trying to find one in uk but there are so many I emailed one dealer and he couldn't lend me a uk charge card as they didn't have one. Any advice where to go

Why not pay to have one brought over on a transporter ? I wouldn't drive one over unless it was within a full charge and a fast charge away from a port. Maybe check for ones closest to the ports ?

I used motors.co.uk and autotrader.co.uk and got my own ecotricity card posted to me before I flew over but check first if ecotricity have enough chargers between the dealer and the ferry. There are multiple providers in the UK so it's different to ROI.
