    And October 15th is confirmed... and S1 - 9 is on All4.

The fact it was so short was an issue for me with the champions shows - didn't allow people get into their stride.

I'd prefer an all-stars though with the best contestants so far. Who would you have for that?
    Toughie.. but a first pass:
    • James Acaster
    • Paul Chowdry
    • Bob Mortimer
    • Sally Phillips
    • Rhod Gilbert
    • Tim Key

Champions of Champions II would be a terrible idea.

Liza Tarbuck, Kerry Godliman, Lou Sanders, Ed Gamble would be the first 4 contestants. Not a good line-up.

Kerry didn't bring a lot to the show, Rhod likely would have won if he didn't deliberately score low by pissing Greg off in the first task every episode.
Liza won without being anyway enjoyable.
    Lou quite forgettable as well.
    Ed was great in fairness.

Swap out Paul Chowdry for Mel Giedroyc and I'm in.

    EDIT: that's 6! I'd ditch Rhod

Kerry didn't bring a lot to the show.
I always enjoyed Kerry, even with her replacing Katy Wix in studio during last season..

.. the Phil Mitchell comparisons / "BOSH.. DONE” always gave me a laugh!

Taskmaster YT did a “Best Of” of pretty much all the contestants but his video seems to be geoblocked! :(

This may jog the memory: https://www.reddit.com/r/panelshow/comments/89c8tk/taskmaster_paul_chowdhry_innit/

Can't argue with that list, but there's not really too many contestants I wouldn't happily watch again.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

On a rewatch - Lolly Adefope, Asim Chaudry, Paul Sinha and Sian Gibson were all pretty dreary..

.. but out of them all, Chaudry would be first to get the boot. The lad just isn’t funny or entertaining!

Ah you need some duller ones to allow Greg have someone to rip the piss out of.

The dullest contestant for me thus far has been Dave Gorman. Can't remember how he tackled a single task. For every other contestant, I can remember something.

I thought Chowdry was great, I enjoyed his dryness.

Personally my least favorite was Russell Howard but I just don't like him anyway, he seems to be completely up his own arse and his success kind of baffles me.

    So hard to pick 5

    Possibly

    Mel Giedroyc
    Hugh Dennis
    Rhod Gilbert
    James Acaster
    Joe Lycett

Joe Lycett looking to camera and smiling for the non task. Superb.

Mel and Hugh were great as the older contestants and they clearly got on really well.

James Acaster and Tim Key are two I would definitely have back as well.

That fifth slot is so hard to fill especially when you have a memory like a sieve as I do. Maybe Romesh.

Romesh for angry reactions in the studio.

Just rewatched Champions Of Champions after the chatter today..

.. to be fair, maybe it was rushed or filmed very close to another series, but they're 2 fairly unremarkable episodes bar this brilliant task..

So much to love about this show. Some of my favourite bits -
The Paul Chowdhry “severed hand” bit.

Alex Hornes reaction to Kerry Godlimans walk when they had to hit the drum in 9.5 seconds.

Doc Brown thinking the painter/decorator mime was a mime for a croupier.

Katherine Ryan “what’s your name?” “Greg” “no....”

The task that they had to park the mobility scooter, searching for it after they got off was absolutely hilarious.

So many more, these are the ones that just come to mind atm.

    James Acaster
    Sally Philips
    Katherine Ryan
    David Baddiel
    Noel Fielding

Not saying they're the best 5 contestants, but I think that would be a great mix of different types of contestants in terms of comedy, creativity, anger, uselessness, intelligence and panic. Especially if Acaster and Baddiel were together for the team tasks :D

No love for Rhod Gilbert? He was gas!

Series 7 really was on a whole other level to the other more recent ones.

Rhod was definitely one of the best, but his way of often avoiding ways to do tasks completely would just push him out of contention for someone I'd want to see again on another series though, even though it was usually very funny.

And Jessica Knappett falling off stage.. :D

.. the simplest live tasks are always the best!

Back on the 15th so not long to wait.

On Channel 4, did Dave cancel?

Hardly.. it's the highest rated show on Dave.

Channel 4 poached it from them.. with an initial order of 6 seasons.

Despite rejecting them six years ago for it being "just another comedy panel show" that they couldn't understand..!

    Oooooooh...

... just saw an ad during GBBO with actual footage and a socially distanced Greg and Little Alex Horne.

I like that cast for the new series, looking forward to it.

No More Jockeys the drought is over, I don't mind it actually.
