    This seems to appear each year but of particular note this year. Has a lovely scent also. Did I plant this?

    Definition of a weed is a plant growing where one does not want it. If you think its pretty and its not in the wrong place, it cannot be a weed. Just enjoy it.

    Alysum is usually an annual, but it could survive a mild winter. It can self seed though so what you are more likely seeing is new plants. It will probably re-appear for a few years, then just not regrow.
