Get McLean & McGeady on go at these. Been too easy for them.

If Georgia score we won't win this match as we haven't got two goals in us.

Has all the atmosphere and performance of a pre-season friendly.

Even if we do qualify, it could be worse than Euro 2012.

Please don't speak of that tournament. Dark days indeed.

A heatmap of the entire team would just show the starting formation

Gibraltar have now conceded 42 goals in this campaign with surely more to come in the next half and their last two games.

Brady has been very good when he's managed to get forward, his link up play with Hoolahan has been about the best football we've managed to produce.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I can't understand the way we are playing when this is a game we must win. Absolutely no urgency at all. As someone said earlier in this thread it's like the team are playing a friendly and not a qualifier for a Championship that they still stand a chance to qualify for.

I can see use sneaking a draw against Poland but the Germans will teach this team a severe lesson.

We really have to get three points against Georgia, I hope O'Neill brings on Long and McClean because we need to change something up front and run at these guys. Pumping the ball up into the air at this Georgian defence is handing the ball right back to them.

I think there is a good case for accepting 100,000 Syrian refugees on the back of this game.

At least you're more likely to score than this shower of shíte.

That paramedic guy on for 45 minutes would provide more entertainment than this Irish team

That was 45 minutes of typical Irish bravery. A few really really good players, supplemented by OK players but everyone giving 100% for the shirt...everyone willing to run through brick walls for each other. A performance of courage, graft, spirit and no little ability thrown in. The Germans will watch the video of this in the next few weeks and will not fancy coming here one little bit

Remember when we used to post things like this?

Is Andy Reid on the bench?

    Given can't be serious?

He can't collect the ball cleanly and post possibly fumbling a goal he remonstrated his own lads

I predicted we'd win 1-0 via a dodgy peno. I will take that gladly right now.

What about "the big lad up front"

Very poor again. Has all the looks of a 0-0. Hopefully second half we see some improvement but you wouldn't be filled with optimism.

That's how bad a manager MoN is, just wasted 45 minutes with Keane on the pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,673 ✭✭✭TheCitizen

Long on. He really should've started. Ireland need to wake up here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,036 ✭✭✭Sanity_Saviour

Whelan having a quietly good game. We're as useless as ever though. Going forward it's like throwing **** at a wall and hoping it sticks

Whelan has put in 3 ****e corners, passed the ball backwards 80% of the time. But when he does pass forward he loses the ball.

He's also pulled out of any meaningful 50:50 and lost every header.

Stealing a cap from just about any one else

Why not keep them both on? This'll be much more of the same.

Greater sense of urgency now. . .I wonder if they got the Keane hairdryer at HT

Ireland are the absolute masters at turning attack into defence, there's nobody better.

Should be bringing Long on alongside Keane

I would say Coleman's one of our best hopes for actually creating something.
