Hi all, does anyone know the cheapest was to buy foreign money please? Also do you usually need to order Korunas (Prague)? Thank you.

You would need to order them in any quantity, a large specialist bureau de change would usually have some in stock though.

As its a sort-of niche currency you are realistically limited to the banks and specialists. First thing to check is to see if your bank offers fee-free conversion for account holders, this isn't that common anymore though. CZK is often shown on the price boards in banks.

I have a mastercard CC with BOI. I think it is still the case that if your card is in credit you are able to withdraw from ATMs abroad without fees, and get a reasonable rate.

So I do not have to carry lots of cash around and do not have to overestimate how much money I need in case I run out. I just put plenty of money on the card before I go.
