It's a rip off alright but I'm still happy to have an actual selection of drinks at a festival.

    Anyone remember Witnness?

Barman: What can I get you?
    Me: What have you got?
    Barman: Guinness.
    Me: Give me a Guinness.

I can only imagine the smell of that campsite come Sunday

I have no idea, it's music, it's dance so it could be a fit. The more indie music type people would have a collective sh1t fit (that will be funny), it would certainly shift tickets.

Id say it would be more than just the indie lovers that would have a shi1t fit tbf me included:eek:

Calvin Harris would be in the grand Picnic tradition of the likes of Florence, Sam Smith, Lily Allen, Paolo Nutini, Fatboy, The Killers, Elbow, Boys Noize, etc: mediocre music that sells tickets. It wouldn't surprise me, and it wouldn't bother me either as I can easily avoid his 'set' like I did with all of the aforementioned.

Red Hot Chili Peppers would be a whole other kettle of pish though, as they're both ****e and expensive, which would probably detract from the lineup elsewhere. Calvin Harris probably isn't cheap, he seems like a moneygrabber type, but doubt he's on that level at all.

a few here seem to think it has legs, maybe the late saturday slot.

Man that would be a horrible prospect if it happened.

I would enjoy it myself - i wouldn't know anything by LCD and not a fan of radiohead so most likely would be off in a tent somewhere anyway on the sat night. Seems most likely it will be Chemical Bros. though so would go to that!

Plenty of other places to hide out if he does play. Wont impact my weekend

oooooh, you take that back about Elbow. Dem's fightin words!

Can wait for the €6.70 pints! [SIZE="1"

Don't forget that delivery charge, €5 for 4 beers if you buy in advance in €25 lumps or €6.25 on the day.

Would Boys Noize really be considered a ticket shifter? He's never had a hit single, let alone a hit album.

Sorry, but I can't. They might have had a decent indie repertoire at one point, but they lost all credibility points thanks to you know what song.

Guy certainly threw his curtains wide, all around the throbbing member of commercialism.

If Calvin Harris is added I will sell my ticket.

And it has absolutely nothing to do with his music.

has anyone who has been listening to TXFM today heard that actually say they'll have the lineup at 2pm?
the fb post says from 2pm, tuned in a few minutes before 2 but can't be arsed listening any longer if it's just going to be 3pm like all the rest that have it embargoed.

first 2 songs after 2pm; PJ Harvey, Kings of Leon.

You're probably right, 2011 was actually relatively free of these kinds of acts, iirc.

    ****e crowd you mean?

PJ Harvey followed by Kings of Leon on TXFM, not sure what to make of that (if that means anything at all). Will certainly mean the left hand side of the site will be easy got round during a potential performance.

Its definitely 245pm, they've said that a few times today

I'm not going to be disgusted about any act announced because it is virtually guaranteed that at the time an act I don't want to see is playing, there will be someone I've never heard of playing on another stage and I'll fall in love with them. Happens every year.

That being said, Radiohead bore the ar$e off me.

Have you seen them in the flesh? Said it before, not a fan of Kid A onwards, but live they are a mighty proposition well worth not missing.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of hot pants as much as the next guy.

But if EP heads in that direction then I'll start going abroad for festivals.

Will be hugely surprised if they get Radiohead. Apparently they are asking for a fortune from festivals - Primavera allegedly paying over €2million to get their first European gig.

I cannot see EP paying that for any act

Like I said before, I think they've had an act like that every year, and they usually put them on the Sundays for the day-trippers, and I haven't really noticed the crowd getting much worse tbh.

I actually hope all the headliners are rubbish, so I don't spend the weekend running around like a mentalist trying to catch them all like last year.

I just bought a ticket. Never been to EP before. Can I not bring a load of my own drink?

I just requested TXFM to play a Calvin Harris song just to troll the lot of you :)

Nope but people keep telling me I'm wrong and that they're brilliant. If there is a gang heading to see them I'll probably tag along to see what I've been missing :P

Assuming they are announced of course..

Depends what you mean by 'a load'. 48 cans (or the vague equivalent in spirits) into the campsite, none into the arena before the bars close.

what time do the bars close in the arena. Never been either but the woman wanted to go so planning this far out for drink is vital
