Current account to student account

    I want to switch my current account to a student account, do I first have to shut down the current account and switch over all my direct debits or is it a bit easier than that?

    Hi dcfc91,

    Thanks for contacting us on Boards.ie

    It is not necessary to close your existing account, if you contact your Bank of Ireland branch they can arrange for the status of your account to be changed to a student account.
