12 digit tracking

I have a package that is showing up as being held by a customs handler. When I phone them about it they ask for a 12 digit tracking number, this number is nowhere on my invoice or the tracking page that shows up for Fedex sent to me by the seller ( iherb ). Has anybody experienced this?.
