Horrible odour from our new couch that <SNIP> delivered. Didn't realise how bad until we had paid the balance. Rang them - said the smell is a common thing and might take two weeks to clear! The smell is unbearable - have all windows open and the cushions outside for past two days, but can't sit in the sitting room, the smell is so bad. Smells toxic like markers. They say it's harmless, but who knows.

Rang office but no comeback of course. They should be pre-airing them when it's that bad. Advise avoiding <SNIP>.

Apparently that seems to be a common side effect from the manufacturing process used nowadays, usually from products made in countries such as China. There's not much the seller can do to redress the problem unless, as you suggest, they unwrap the furniture and air it before delivery.

No idea. How can I tell? It's from <SNIP>
Not much improvement one week on.

how much you pay for it?

Can you sit on 1 side without really impacting on the other. I'd imagine it woulda been a key sales pitch though.
