St Marks Fly

    Hi All,

    A long time since I have posted on Boards and first time on this particular topic. So I am aware that the Irish Wildlife trust issued a report today stating that swarms of St Marks Flies are hitting the country. But is the attached photo that of a St Marks Fly?

    These guys gather every morning on the side of my house and are all over the tree next door, but only one type of tree, not others.

    They are a little annoying as when I open my door in the morning they all fall into the landing!

    anyone have any ideas if they are St Marks Flies?
