Tripod for Canon 6D?

    Looking to buy something fairly decent and sturdy for my son as a gift. Don't want ot break the bank either :D
    any suggestions within reason?

    I use the manfrotto 190. Decent tripod without being too expensive. About €180. However, its the tripod head which is the crucial bit and a good one is expensive. What type is very dependent on the photographer so you may want to leave that purchase up to your son.

    It does the job just fine - has both vertical and horizontal controls and sturdy legs. Not too heavy either, good balance.
