Not much in the way of heavy rain here in north meath, more misty and breezy, seems its just like the summer was, a west east split

Apart from a brief heavier burst earlier, the rain intensity is really struggling to achieve anything worthwhile here. Very dark and looks like it should be pouring but just a drip drip drip. Think all the high ground down in Clare, Kerry & Tipperary is acting like a sponge.

Yeah, same here down the road from you. Looks like there is a clearing on the way from the looks of the radar.
Or is it starting to rotate and push east now?

Looks like it is beginning to pivot now around Clare which could sustain the rain over the likes of Connemara and west Mayo for a while yet.

Started raining here at 9pm yesterday and it still hasn't stopped although it looks as if it might clear soon.
Was out and drove home a short time ago, never seen so much water. Rivers of water running down the roads. So much flowing out of fields and overflowing ditches. Not a great night to be driving.

Biblical rain in North Kerry today, will probably delay start of Listowel race week.

From the Galway Advertiser Facebook feed:

"Road conditions terrible on the N59 - part of road broken away and river running through flooded roads between Peacockes and Recess."

15.2mm rain so far, looks like the east coast is getting off very lightly from this.
