I have edited the title so that we can now focus more on the second round of rainfall expected Sunday into Monday. I am not able to edit the colour coded warning level but would be comfortable with keeping level 2 or downgrading to level one. What I am expecting is some isolated level 2 type rainfalls in western Connacht and possibly in Kerry, but mostly level 1 additional rainfall (once this last gasp of the current system moves away before most will read this anyway).

Having said that, please post any storm total rainfalls or additional road reports.

New to this thread? Take notice that while the rain may have ended in Kerry, Clare, Galway and Mayo, effects of flooding could continue for a while and so the risk level is more to do with rainfall than with road conditions, where the possibility exists of a more severe risk element until all the water has run off from yesterday's exceptionally heavy mountain rainfalls. Small streams usually have a rather fast cycle of rain to flood, so unless there's a late-breaking mudslide or culvert collapse, most of the serious damage that might happen is likely already there -- drive with extreme caution on roads in those areas if they are in fact open to travel.

    Just stopped in East Wicklow
My total is just under 27mm
It really got going from 10 last night

Well, I thought I had changed the title, but apparently not.

If any moderator is able to edit the title of this thread to something like

"Further rainfalls expected Sunday 13 - Monday 14 Sept" and give that a level one designation, thanks in advance.

I won't be around much until Sunday so these details may evolve into something different before I get back into the thread.

    40/50ml of rain !!
Parts of Japan got over 600ml in one day I'd imagine that's biblical proportions

Euro4 is showing around 50-70mm falling tomorrow over parts of Kerry that saw the heaviest rain yesterday. Other models keep the most intense rain a bit further west, just off the coast.

I've a small plastic bin out back for bringing bottles to the bottle bank with more rainwater than that in it. :D

Event total here, which was within a 24 hour period (1.30 am Fri to 1.30 am Sat) was 36.5 mm. Highest rain rate peaked at 13.2 mm/ph so never particularly heavy at any stage.

Yr 12z meteogram for Valentia for next two days. Up 60-70 mm potential. With a stiff N'rly developing along with it, it looks quite nasty.

Rarely see this scale being maxed out. Looks the very heaviest may manage to stay just offshore?
