Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My favorite part was when the man passed the ball backwards.

    30 million for Firmino

    Mental

This is poor stuff. Felanis first touch has been brutal, could have had a few chances.

worst first half of football ive watched for a good while. sloppy slow and pure sh1t

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

So far united more or less something used to seeing, a lot of ball but no real chances. Looks like players are trying to pass too much and aren't even thinking about shooting when given the chance.

Liverpool side, well they haven't been great on the ball at all, sitting back a lot too. Mignolet has been very dodge.

Overall an extremely boring 45 minutes of football.

    The backwards man?

    He's here somewhere.

What time does the Man Utd-Liverpool game start? Usually some fireworks in these derby games.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

A half typical of both teams. One paced and devoid of ideas. The amount of aimless long balls, aimless running with the ball, aimless periods of possession with absolutely no purpose has been remarkable if only for the sheer cost of both of the teams on show. I can't see where either of these clubs are going.

Why exactly did we buy benteke? We havent used him once, its actually sad to watch utd and liverpool like this they are both so very ordinary

Worst United - Pool game I've ever seen.

Worst game I have ever seen

Liverpool have come to play deep and just avoid a defeat. United are dominating the midfield and its all one way at this point, but the play is so slow. United have got in only twice, maybe three times that half and not a shot on target. Our front three aren't doing much. Shaw is doing more in an attacking sense than any other player on the pitch.

I think Martial will make an appearance - he cant do any worse than the front 3 that's up there.

Two average enough teams, I wouldn't back United to get out of their champs league group, Liverpool would be doing well to get a europa league spot.

Shaw the only player who's providing any urgency, a worthy heir to Ashley Cole, the fullbacks have been generally dominant.

    Bring on Martial.

Who'd have thought playing a team of midfielders would result in a load of passing without penetration?

I want those 45 minutes back..........

Pure rot. From both teams. Thought an evening kick off might liven this game up.

    Why don't United shoot?
    Shít match.

It would almost be beneficial for United for Liverpool to score because the philosophy would have to be abandoned

I don't think that even they will try to defend that garbage

If they're not careful, they'll find themselves last on Match of the Day.

Game set up for an Anthony Martial, Roy of the rovers debut.

I could be but right now I'm talking about Man Utd and Liverpool, two clubs who have spent eye watering amounts of money in recent years and serve up 45 minutes of football like that, but the really scary thing is that this is becoming more and more the norm rather than the exception.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Carragher, United didn't spend the most money in Europe.

Aimless muck. Sh!te and boring match in what has become an over exposed, over saturated boring league

If Ings is playing he should be beside Benteke, if Rodgers wants a player to play how Ings currently is then he should bring on Moreno.

'It's going to get better'- SkySports presenter

**** me is that what they've resorted to now.

The only thing I suppose you can say in Rodgers favour is maybe he's so scared that losing this game will add to the pressure he's under that he's happy to draw like this. That or maybe he's trying to play on the counter but you can't do that when the team you're playing against are utterly inept going forward?

Why are people getting upset about Sky Sports advertising the football?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

I'd love it if one of them turned to Henry and said "So Thierry, is this the best league in the world?" :P

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Most interesting thing I've seen so far watching the match is the trailer for that film with Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell. Looks daycent, more than I can say about the football on show :P

I think both managers would snap your hand off for a draw. It seems that way from both initial set-ups and subsequent performance so far.

Could be worse lads. Take me for example. I'm in Warsaw and walked into the first bar nearest the hotel I could find with a projector and demanded they put on the game.

Its full of what looks like Polish body builders. I assured them all it would be great entertainment.

They are now giving me loads of abuse in Polish. I'll do well to make it out alive.

    So terrible I'm actually offended.

I'd bring young on for one of the central midfielders and stick Depay up front with the big lad.

Does Alan Green still commentate for 5live?

He'd be worth listening to on a match like this.

Young on to actually try cross the ball to the tall forward. Tactics.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

    Memphis off?

At least he was trying, Mata has hardly touched ball.

What a dreadful game so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    Jim Beglin on my stream:
It has to be an injury to Depay. It doesn't make sense to take him off

Don't know what game he was watching. He was dirt.
