TV3 RWC coverage

I hate hate hate the ads after the anthems. Takes us out of the little bit of atmosphere you get at home.

Anyway I'm having a seriously tough time opening up the TV3 player - is it worth it?!

The Irish commentator on ITV was Geordan Murphy. Didn't find him good tbh; very very boring.

Yeah. I didn't change after the Ireland match and when they switched to this game the players were all lined up for the kick off.

Can you imagine tomorrow, New Zealand lining up for the Haka, few ads come on, coverage resumes with New Zealand guys with their tounges sticking out.

They showed Tonga's this morning but I think that's probably because it was the World feed and they assumed nobody was actually watching so what's the point of showing ads?

I refuse to pay a fee to Sky for HD coverage. Watching the games on ITV.
The coverage is pretty good but my God they do like to go over the top a little.

This. It's so difficult to get any time for proper analysis with all of the constant ads and promos etc.

They just presided over one of the greatest sporting moments probably of all time and the utter commercial rigidity of ads at certain times, ads when we should be watching emotional scenes etc has completely sanitised a glorious sporting moment. This and, as someone else said, things like missing national anthems and their tech nearly always failing to capture atmosphere in the stadia (telling me it is unreal doesnt cut it) really means that the tv viewer misses out

The whole thing looks stale, half-assed and TV3 have missed their chance already

Switched over to tv3 once ITV went to the news. They just watched probably the best World Cup game ever and they are showing highlights of Ireland & Canada? I know it's an Irish station and all but surely a bit more time should have been spent on the Japan game!

TV3 are doing themselves no favours - their coverage is practically unwatchable apart from the actual match. Best to tune 10 sec before a game starts, hit the off button at half time and at full time. 'Analysis' is just a joke - wall to wall adverts. Big turn off.

If you have an Irish HD subscription it clears through "Other Channels"

If tv3 had HD on SAORIVIEW, their figures would be through the roof , but have yet to switch on the channel as I have a freesat box to watch in HD. charging for HD ffs.....

The amount of Ads on TV3 is brutal, there's so many ads their analysis isn't worth watching. Like watching NFL. Their set looks like they're robbed something from Stade Francais.

Their own commentary is terrible, its like something from a computer game. If there's a tackle or play changes from what the commentator was saying, he just keeps going because he hasn't been programmed to f***ing adjust.

It's pretty much what I expected.

I honestly have to watch Irish games on ITV - I cannot listen to Conor McNamara putting on a very wierd accent... Thank god for ITV!
