I'd echo's Pixel's advice. Find some mates to play it with and it'll make it a whole lot easier and more fun. A lot of the operators aren't vital to get used to at the start, you only need a few like Thermite/Hibana, Thatcher, Capitao, Smoke, Mira, Bandit and Jager.
Terrorist Hunt is also a good way to get used to the maps, operators etc.
It really is an amazing game once you get the hang of it. I've had it since the Beta and I'm still not bored of it. There's always a new strat/angle etc. to learn.

Echo is good if you like hiding most of the match and watching your drone...not for me but I have more fun with Maestro doing that.

Who do you not have and what kind of play do you enjoy?

I'm mostly a roamer or stalker and have most fun with Vigil, Zofia, Lion and Frost

been playing a lot of thatcher and mute lately. I'm making the effort to adjust to my random teammates picks - i.e. take a hard breacher if no one else has, or take thatcher if someone else is hard breaching.

Been playing Thatcher a bit lately too ever since I got his cool blue helmet in an alpha pack. That AR33 is pretty accurate...

My mains for a very long time were Twitch (A) and Valkyrie (D). Transitioned to Mute (D) mostly and use Sledge (A) a lot too.

Sledge has become very useful since Maestro and the bullet proof cameras, Personally I play in ranked Termite/Hibana(A) Frost(D) always stick close together with thatcher

Anytime I play as Mute, my friends call me a selfish bastard for running off to the doorways straight away to block drones first instead of reinforcing..messing; but it's meme status with us now.

Whaaaa? I think he's extremely useful for Bomb (plant, then use a fire arrow to block a route, or just right on the defuser) or generally flushing people out of defensive positions.

I like Capitao too (and he looks cool!).
You are spot on RE: his strengths. The smoke can be useful also to cause confusion and aid the team.

The problem people have - I think - is that he has such low health. He's not one for shootouts.

In all my time playing this game, I've been killed just once by his gadget. Murdered him more than I can remember but you're right; he doesn't fare well in a gunfight.

Gotta stop playing after a few...ended up buying the emerald weapon skin for 3 quid last night about 3am...granted, it looks pretty sweet on any gun but I only saw it this morning and thought "wait, I don't remember getting that..."

So starting again from the beginning. Only have the base ops!!!!

Have just discovered that Jagers gun is a laser headshot machine!!! SFA recoil and accurate. How did I not know this before!!! I got an ace already and a good few MVP.....

Forgot how toxic casual can be. I was left 1v4 and clutched it and then got voted out???

Up to level 15 after about 7 hrs of play.....ranked soon!!!

Just started playing this on PC after racking up like 250 hours on Xbox when it first came out. It's better on PC, but it's very easy at the low ranks.

Jaegers gun was always one of the best in the game, I pick him on defence all the time. I remember when they nerfed his anti-grenade thingy that he was still picked purely for his rifle.

I've been matched with Golds and Silvers just as often as I've been matched with noobs.

Well no offence meant but if you didn't know much about jagers gun as back in the day people played him without even using his jager systems just played for his gun. Your overall map experience is probably low the smurf comment was more directed at awec. I have to say playing it on xbox some smurfs are still bad bad players but a lot are diamond players trying to get easy matches against silvers or golds it really annoys the hell out of me I really think they need to up the level required to play ranked to help stop it.

Nearly every 2nd match there is a smurf of some kinda its very annoying!

My map experience is hunky dory thanks.

I mained Fuze on attack (got my first ace with him) and alternated between Rook and Kapkan on defense for a long time when I started playing. Then I got the season pass and started using Frost mostly on defense and Twitch on attack. Now I main Dokkaebi and alternate between Alibi, Lesion and Mira on defense.

I wasn't confident enough to use Jager or Bandit back in the beginning as I normally anchored and let the better players roam.

Starting again with my experience and slightly better aim I am exploring OPs I didn't use too much before.

'Everyone' may well have known about him but I wasn't on any forums or websites at that stage so I didn't know about him except for the nurf on the acog.

It looks to be electrified in the picture which is a scary thought I feel the game at the moment has enough shield carriers and they are an absolute b#!*h to come across especially a team with 2 shields like Montagne and Blitz.

I nearly always think with every announcement of new operators I think its going to screw the game up, I really hope it doesn't.

I really feel like other games that have a lot of characters like "smite" or "LoL" pro league you can choose 5 characters each the opposite team cant play. I feel ranked will maybe end up being that way, not 5 but maybe a 2 or 3.

...but it's the first defender with a shield which makes things very interesting imo.
Could maybe protect someone while they're defusing the bomb maybe..

I don't know what her use would be to be honest yet protect the defusing guy (Very Small Chance in 2-3 defenders alive for this circumstance) I don't see them creating a character for very little purpose.

Rooming as a defender with a shield ain't going to work so what she would be best standing in a doorway blocking attackers entering 1 way?

Again yes its the first time for a defender to have a shield but I don't believe the only reason they created the operator... O lads we are seeing the attacking stats there are 2 shield characters being used lets give the defends a shield so there can be a stale shoot out?

A bit of data mining has suggested it can be used for blocking breach holes.
That'll come in handy if true.

Well in theory yes but you still require your team to have your back, and I presume you can still just lob a grenade over her.

I know I'm being quite negative but I personal feel she may be absolute useless. Fill that hole #TeamMemberTampon
